Nothing I enjoy more than a craft beer and in the past been all kinds of drunk, I am quite sensible these days but still decided to quit drinking alcohol completely, it doesn't really do anything for me anymore. I need quite a bit of it and it makes my body feel fucked up, and as you get older your sensitivity to the hangover gets worse so I've decided to drop my crutches, remove the chains and all that.

No, I am not much of a drinker if we are talking about how often we drink. I think at most I've been hammered five or six nights in a month and that was probably in May four-five years ago. Now it's more like two nights per month. Alcohol doesn't calm me down, and when I start I don't stop until I pass out, it's pure binge drinking. I find the cheapest beer I can find or white whine or sometimes a bottle of vodka (mixing it with Sprite) and drink as much as I can. I'd say that after 18 beers I usually pass out.

When I go to the bar with friends (the few times a year I actually do that) I end up taking shots and getting far more drunk than if I drank alone. It also ends up costing like 50 bucks when I could have bought a six pack and drank by myself for 8 bucks. It's gotten to the point where even thinking about alcohol makes me physically nauseous.Looking at it and smelling it makes me gag but I just keep coming back for more. The 4 or so beers my throat literally constricts to try and prevent the fluid from entering. But after number 9 or so I get that pleasant warm feeling I started for. I can not stand being indoors. the moment i leave my room(cage)/house and go outside into nature i feel a MASSIVE weight off my back. i personally like periods of complete darkness because i enjoy the visuals, so night trips are what i seek. definitely recommended being somewhere beautiful in nature. somewhere were you can really let go and not worry about surroundings

Alcohol damages the dendrites, but that is usually reversible. That guy might just be insane. Anyways thanks again. I might drink again on Tuesday depending how the primary voting goes. I'll see about quitting after that. The problem is I have an addictive personality so I'll need to find something else to be addicted to, hopefully something healthy this time. Also I'm pretty sure alcohol has permanently fucked my serotonin levels up. So it might boil down to if I rather live a long, miserable, joyless life or die an early painful death. I fucking hate alcoholics. I'm training to become a doctor in the UK and a good 15% of the people I see are alcoholics. If I lived in the US I imagine most of them wouldn't be able to afford treatment but thanks to the NHS they are obligated to get helped. They're the most disgusting, pitiful people I've ever seen. If I was a real doctor I'd be tempted to give them too much morphine when they go in for their seventh liver transplant. Most of them come in either wanting a transplant - which they usually get despite the fact they'll just go and drink it to death again - or they come in with delirium tremors. Those are the worst. They can't keep anything in so they're constantly dribbling vomit and bile onto themselves. They shit themselves and as another anon mentioned will drink their piss to try and get drunk again. Their skin is like leather and most can hardly see. There's a 30 year-old who looks 60. When they go in for surgery their insides are inflamed and decrepit. If you're an alcoholic and you get to that stage just kill yourself, it's already too late.
