Unless they did a biopsy and a cell analysis, you don't know whether those things are spreading, and throat cancers can be treated, though you may come out of it looking like ass or mute.
Benign throat tumors are common for people with conditions that make cancer likely, so if you're not dying(MAKE SURE THAT HE SAID YOU'RE DYING), then you might be lucky you caught it sooner than later.

Maybe you're right. But being a sickbot myself who is at risk for esophagus and colon cancer I find this story really strange. Throat cancer is rare at that age, even more for non smokers. Sounds like a fucking statistical anomaly. Then, you don't find this during a normal check up. The gp refers you to a specialist who will do/ask you to do several tests including biopsies (in this case taking samples of the tumors). Weird.
