No, Life is Strange is just shit. It completely wastes the interesting mechanic of rewinding time by barely making use of it, it's riddled with plotholes and at times contrivances are made just to move the story along because the writers couldn't think of a way to progress things that actually made sense. The constant references and the dialogue are painful to endure, thankfully the dialogue improved but it still remained shit. I haven't sufferred through the fifth episode but I know that none if your choices matter in the end anyway, aside from whether you save the bay or Chloe, and why anyone would save that humongous cunt is beyond me. Also, what was the point of going back in time and saving her dad? It contributed absolutely nothing to the story whatsoever, it was just a cheap attempt to tug at the players emotions, and seeing as most Life is Strange fans are idiots that don't care about the fact that an hour of your time was wasted because the third episode needed a cliffhanged, it worked.
There are games that actually have good writing as well as having gameplay, and some even have choices that matter too. Life is Strange doesn't have two of these things and the one it does have it does incredibly poorly. It's a steaming pile of shit.

What did reversing time to save Chloe's dad contribute to the narrative? Each episode is only so long and they should try to make the most of that time, rather than waste it away on a cheap attempt to play with your emotions. Removing that whole segment wouldn't change the story in the slightest. And if you want to pull the idea that it's just common sense to go back and help her friend, then why doesn't she go back and fix more problems with the world? There's plenty of pictures to do it with after all. And if it's so obvious that the first thing to do with these abilities is to go back to save your friends dad, then why did it take her until the third episode to do so?
Choices do matter. ME2 and 3 may be shit for mkre than the fact that your choices didn't matter, but that still played a role in it. If LiS had good puzzles, or if it made use of the time travel mechanic, I wouldn't complain that the choices don't matter, I would still be uoset that the game tries to act like they atter by giving you a choice in the first place, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal. However, as it stands, being a videogame contributes nothing to LiS. Having choice would remedy this issue, but because LiS has no gameplay aside from walking around and looking at things, which is a pitiful excuse for gameplay made worse by the fact that there are games that are fun to play that also let you explore the environment better than in LiS, as well as no choices and is driven by its writing that cannot be interacted with by the player and nothing else, it would make more sense for it to be a novel or a TV series. The only reason it is neither if thes things is because the writing in LiS is equivalent to the writing you would find in the average book in the Young Adults section of a library, and that's being generous. It's schlock that would be forgitten in a week, but because there's a lower standard for good writing in videogames, LiS can be successful in this medium.
