I'm pretty sure most people talk to themselves out loud. It's easier to organize your thoughts when you say rather than keep it jumbled up in your head.

One of my paranoid fears is that I actually talk out loud in public but I don't know it. I'm sure crazy people don't know it. And nobody ever tells crazy people that they're crazy. People just ignore it and act like nothing's wrong.

talking to yourself in private to improve your speech skills is a tactic used by people of all levels of proficiency in communication. there's literally nothing wrong with it.
