Something Smells(the episode where he and patrick get bad breath) is probably my favorite.
But there are a lot of genuinely good episodes among the older seasons.
Spongebob suffered the same fate homer did. They stopped actually writing proper lines for him and just use the same cookie-cutter quirkyness throughout. Before he was sometimes smart, sometimes silly, sometimes serious etc. Now he is just permanently a hyper little shit with a disconnect from reality.
I can't choose just one but Graveyard Shift, SB-129 and Rock Bottom are probably my all time favourites. I just love how spooky and comfy they are.

In german they just switched patrick's voice actor for the newer seasons because they cut salaries for the VA's that weren't spongebob and he wouldn't have it.
Worst part is they didn't just get a new GOOD voice actor. They just tried to get one that can imitate the old patrick voice the best. And now you have this pretend-patrick who just sounds slightly off on T.V.
