anybody else really dislike games? I just can't get into them anymore, a game hasn't excited me since I was like 13. I just wish something made me happier, even if it is temporary.

I like older JRPGs with good music and actual stories, but I can't stomach most other games. Especially anything with voice acting. Voice acting is absolutely terrible for a game's story, regardless of the language.
Suikoden II and Xenogears, I've probably played a dozen times each.

Tons of movies or TV shows are made specifically for an older audience while most vidya is made to interest people up to their 20s, every older person is just a bonus.

that or the game simulates reality in which case if you're a soldier it's 99.9% staving off boredom by abusing energy drinks
I enjoy tabletop solo RPGs. It's all I spend my money on and it's customizability is only limited to your imagination.

I do love them but I don't like them as much as I used to - it's rare a game will grasp me enough to play for 10 plus hours straight whereas I was able to do that with every game a few years ago.
Better for it though. That kind of mentality leads to a manchild epidemic and wastes too much time when you could be doing something more useful.
I play games still but not every day now - the drive just is not there - I fill in the time now by reading for 1hr30Min, writing for 1hr30Min, improving my vocabulary for 1Hr, reading current events for 30Mins and working out for 45 mins 5 times a week.
Thinking of trading my ps4 in once I finish playing Desu Ex Mankind divided as there are no other games that I want after that and Uncharted will already have come out too.

lately I installed skyrim and was about to replay it again.
I spent like 2 whole days modding it. then I quit the game after few hours of gameplay.
I can't force myself to play that game for more than 30 minutes. I just can't. in fact it is not only skyrim it's any game I start playing.
just for the record I used to play games 8 or more hours a day before.
I would rather go out with friends, too bad I don't have any.
I can still play half life 2 happily. Comfy action adventure.

yes I know but I feel like I lack social interaction. while I played mmorpgs it was ok, there was always someone to talk to.
after I quit I feel really lonely. fact that I am semi-neet does not help.
while I was at university I was at least able to go out for a beer with people I did not really liked but it was better than nothing.

this. I haven't played a recently released game in years outside of some hidden-gem indie games.
Other than retro ones I only play pokemon romhacks. I was never one deeply into modern 3d games ever though.
Mostly though it has to do with the fact that if entertainment is all you do you WILL get depressed regardless. I'd say that MMO's and MOBAS in particular are designed to be addictive and life draining at a much worse level than anything else, which is why I've always avoided them.
I still enjoy my games because I'm in school and I also work hard, it's a lot more satisfying to accomplish something in real life and THEN come back to vidya to unwind.

I also think that 4chan/internet addiction makes even games seem too slow in comparison. I've certainly lost a lot of interest in gaming and even porn after being hooked on 4chan instead
It's probably a good idea to quit the internet for a few days and try to force yourself to read to fix your attention span.
