Star Trek as a TV program is fine as it is, even the newest TV show found its legs after a while.
Not a fan of the movies though, they come across as a bit generic due to being pretty typical sci-fi action affair in part because they don't have the lengthy character background and familiarity generated by the TV series' to capitalize on with movies (like the movies based on the TV series' did).
I always liked Star Trek as something more political too, and it's almost entirely lost in the newer films in their efforts to try and broaden to the wider market. I'm sure he didn't think twice about it but now every time I go to a job application they see I've been arrested and think I'm a real criminal when really it was nothing.
They took me to the station gave me a caution and I let me go after 6 hours into the middle of Plaistow at 1 in the morning and I had no idea how to get home.
I didn't hate the police before but after such a monumental waste of a time and fucking with a kid because some dickhead rozzer was in a bad mood, I had a very negative view of police for a while. Now I guess some are good, some are power tripping cunts in hard hats.
