I used to think you should be able to hear people walking in China (opposite end of the world). Nobody told me that but that's just how sound propagates right? I found radiators to be fascinating. You could communicate to far places in the building by tapping on it.
I cared a lot about sound. Then I got tinnitus because my teacher thought it disrespectful to cover my ears when the other kids in class were performing with ridiculous volume. She forcibly removed my hands from my ears. Week later I still heard ringing and went to the school nurse. She concluded that I didn't have tinnitus. Took a private doctor to test me and he concluded I did have tinnitus. Sued her and she got fired.
You have no idea how much I loved hearing things well. She should have been tortured at least.
