Any robots that served in the military here? I'm considering joining a branch but I don't know which one. I'm looking at either Marines or Air Force.
>>
>>26969097
I'm in the army and it's ok. It's hard being away from home, and I was already seriously depressed before I joined. But, it's forced socialization and fitness, so there is that. But I still think I'll kill myself after my contract ends.
>>
>>26969097
Military is a tough place for robots.

I'm joining infantry in august. I've decided that I really can't see myself becoming anything else in life other than to be deployed as cannon fodder in some shit hole country.

I console myself by masturbating to her inevitable rape.
>>
>>26969483
you are retarded.
Im an infantryman deployed right now and there is nothing going on. war ended in late 2014 and your are going to play fuck fuck games in the field for weeks and never deploy or kill anyone. go to college and stop trying to be something you will never achieve
>>
>>26969756
I can wait around, peace never lasts long.
>>
>>26969802
again you are fucking stupid.
Vietnam war ended in 1975 and the next major conflict was the global war in terrorism. (yes dessert storm happen but it was more of a battle than a war that lasted a few months). that is a 26 year gap. people literally reached the top of the rank totem pole and retired without tasting combat. the only people who are currently running ops are SOF (special operations forces) which you wont be trust me. it took three thousand americans to die for us to begin another war and this country is too war weary to even consider another conflict.
>>
>>26969300
Yeah I had depression before I joined the Army too because life just sucked. Resiliency training and some of the other stuff helped me out a bit and reinforced some of the more positive thoughts and behaviors I had.
Why don't you just re-up if you're gonna kill yourself, you probably got a pretty good shot at having a fun life and it'd be way easier if you been saving up those paychecks.
There's still a program to help vets get a house in a lot of states I can't remember if it's federal or not you could check on AKO would have something about it somewhere. If you got a place to stay the rest should fall into place.

The daily grind is a lot more entertaining than being a neet even when it's just something like standing around in formation.

>>26969483
If you for sure wanna get into a fight you should go for special forces selection.
>>
>>26969934
also just a heads up since we arent fighting conventional wars and focusing on objective regular warfare, the military is depending on solely operators to get the job done. if you honestly think you have what it takes to keep up with those guys your wrong. just straight up the torment these guys put their bodies through is superhuman and takes a different mentality than anyone who on this board has
>>
>>26969097
Don't join the Marines unless you want to be a Marine. You don't join the Corps for the job experience, you join for the ethos that goes with being a Marine. My advice, if you want to be infantry in the Marines but don't want to deal with all the bullshit that comes with it, be a Navy Corpsman and go Green Side
Air Force is mostly desk jobs and Army is absolutely haram

Joined Navy as CTR to improve my social skills.
>tfw nobody told me this rate was full of robots.
Go to work, go back to room, eat, vidya, shower repeat.
Long working hours. 7 am- 7 pm (on a small ship)
Only reason why I'm not a virgin, granted I was on deployment and paid for it.
Deployment totally makes the four years of succ worth it IMHO. And it gives you a solid chance to save money because you literally don't have to spend a dime if you don't want.
Made E-5 in three years, so now I get paid around 2,100 a month. It's not much, but you don't pay rent with that if you don't want.
Pic semi-related, spent Christmas in Singapore during deployment.

Bullshit within the next 2 years I'm gonna be scoring a 300 on my PT test or getting really damn close. I'm not really in the condition to be making those boasts right now but I know I'm gonna put in the work already starting to get most of my conditioning back I wasn't too far off from a 300 before.

Also there are other options besides infantry if you want a combat MOS. I would of went for infantry when I was younger now that I'm older I'd go for cavalry probably if I were cut out for that sort of thing and it was an option. Logically cav is most likely to get into a skirmish than infantry, infantry is for when you're all in for a decisive fight or strategic area. Cav is more likely to come into contact with hostiles.
>>
>>26970377
again you are fucking retarded.
its okay you have never spent a day in uniform and your probably base your knowledge off of youtube comments or something some guy once said.
Calvary scouts moto is literally "if we get spotted we are not doing our mission right" they are the ones who roll up in humvees slowly and shoot up spot reports to higher which then calls in the infantry. (my platoon Sargent was a calv scout in Afghanistan then he went infantry) Infantry literally conducts presence and raid patrols in which they go out and look for trouble around their ao to draw the enemies like in Afghanistan where they usually wont come to you. Infantry is used for everything from raids to presence patrols to convoy escorts to intel gathering to occupation and snatch and grabs.
So you think that you score 300 means you can get through selection. FUCKING LOL. everybody has a 300 active infantry, do you think they all can make selection? No they have to be able to perform land nav at a incredible level and be a true leader who knows absolutley what to do and go through the tlp process flawlessly, while carrying a 100 pound ruck on 30 minutes of sleep and on mile 18 of a 25 mile movement to another timed event. The army pt test is a joke and in no wow means you can simply grind out selection.

Currently in the Marine Corps. It's alright, but the political correctness is leeching in. I can't even properly haze my junior Marines anymore. Especially females.

Join the navy if you don't want to have your guts pasted across the desert in some shitslime country.

Serious question to the bots in military - do you have to get naked in front of people regularly? I couldn't do that.

Kek, way to choose the literal easiest and hardest branches. Go marines if you want to fuck shit up and like stuff the hard way. Go army/navy is marines is too tough. Go air force if you like stuff easy mode. Coast guard and national guard are non factors

Air Force here. Don't do the Marines dude. Worse living conditions, way more bullshit you have to put up with, and chances are, all the cool jobs you'd want to do are contracted out. If anyone has any questions, I'll gladly answer.
>>
>>26969483

Don't think like that, man. Once you do get a job and a decent life with friends and such that desire will no longer be relevant. Then you'll just be pissed you did that job lol

Do Air Force, or Navy, and get a job as something you'd like to do on the civilian side.
>>
>>26972615
yep, and getting food/shelter while getting to shoot guns seems fun. i just hope that i don't get disqualified, because i mentioned that i took adhd medicine in the past
>>

Bad news bro, pqd.
>>
Don't do it. Everyone is mean :c
>>
>>26972691
I won't get that. I don't have any desires or goals in life, I don't have any work experience, hell, I didn't even graduate high school.
Joining the army seems like the most proper choice for me, since physical activities and work keep my mind occupied.

Feldwebel at the German medical forces here, it's bretty good, right now I'm getting paid to study. Although I don't know how it is in the United States, I heard you had to go to West Point to get a paid Medicine Study or a compareable study

I have to go for field exercises during the holidays but better than a wageslave job during the studies.

French Army Reservist here

I'm Finnish and I served (we have conscription). There's the army, navy, airforce and the Boarder Guard also trains a small amount of every year soldiers. I did my service in the Border Guard. I'll just copy paste from English Wikipedia what I was trained in, it's easier that way. Also English speakers will laugh at the name:

>Nearly every Border Guard District trains small number of conscripts for long range reconnaissance (Finnish: Sissi). Conscripts in Border Guard companies are mostly volunteers and preferably selected from the occupants of border areas, and while trained by Border Guard, they do not perform regular border control duties. Rivalry between Sissi from Border Guards and Defence Forces is traditionally high.

> Sissi is a Finnish term for light infantry which conducts reconnaissance, sabotage and guerrilla warfare operations behind enemy lines. The word sissi, first attested in the modern meaning "patrolman, partisan, spy" in 1787, comes to Finnish from Slavic and refers either to a forest bandit or his yew bow.[1]

It is not special forces hard but quite gruelling. Hell at times but that's kind of part of the charm. My mistake was that I just served the minimum time. I should have tried to get into the NCO training. Now I'm a neet robot.

>my options actually seem pretty great

>eventually the medical screening comes around
>tell them I'm on six different kinds of psych meds for multiple mental health problems
>they inform me that this disqualifies me from serving in the military
>get depressed
>go back to being a neet

And here I am. My country didn't want my schizoid ass.

The military is for failed chads seeking redemption.

Not suited for us neets.
>>
>>26973141

Okay/10. Not great and I'm glad I only did 4 years but free college, free education, a decent steady paycheck. I guess it all depends on the job you get. But regardless, there's just a lot of drama and bullshit you have to deal with.

Despite all that, I still think I'm the happiest I've ever been overall, so if you got nothing better to do go for it. But pick a job that's not repairing planes and something you'd like to do on the outside, as you'll have job experience.

Since we are in peace time right now what are the chances of landing a 68W job?

>pretending US SOF selection is difficult

Plenty of chances to get your feet wet in SF without having to fail the delta course. Never fails to amaze me how many "hardened" soldiers shit themselves at the prospect of rolling around in their own puke or doing solo night nav exercises.

>>26969097
marines and then get your jump wings and diver badge so you can be dual cool.

How much should I lie at MEPs about my past medical history? What's ok to tell them about? Also what's the comfiest robot job? Any ASVAB tips?
>>
>>26972185
In the Navy, yes we did, but only in bootcamp.
>>
>>26975308
Navy- CTR, CTN(only if you understand computers very well, out have high learning aptitude), CTI, CTM or any nuke job really. And if there is a paper record of your medical history, you must tell the truth. If not, don't divulge. And only answer the questions you're asked.
