5ft 11 is very, very common nowadays.
Just because the average is smaller, it's irrelevant, because it takes into account small, old men who have shrunk.
Even 6ft isn't considered that tall anymore.
I'm talking about noticing that someone is tall, and that only really happens from 6ft2 onwards.
Anything just under 6ft is deemed very average now.
If your height starts with 5, you're a manlet, it's that simple.

The chart agrees with you that everything below 6ft is manlet status, everything about 6ft 4 is pushing it, and 6ft 2 is ideal.
