muh player interaction
>>
>>26960576
it wasn't the shekles. I played that game for so long and could barely eek out an existence. the most I ever had was 12 mil in gold. then I finally get back into it and find something that allows me to do more than scrape by and they immediately shut it down with a feature that didn't even exist in 2007. complete horseshit.
>>
>>26959460
pretty much got to the point where all the content I hadnt done in osrs was in the wildy and i knew it was either grind stuff outside it or actually progress so the first time I went out there within 5 minutes a pker on a low pop server killed me.

fuck that game. i hate pvp.
>>
>>26960629
that's how I know you never played the game befiore OSRS you little shit. the game was built on player interaction. now it's just autopilot like RS3.

Still trying for that mole pet.
>>

It was originally released in November 2007. How fucking stupid are you?

>the game was built on player interaction

This is the most common argument to the GE, but why? You'd rather stand around for hours spamming with an auto typer? Walking around looking for a seller that isn't a jew? Seriously? Come on.

Go to the GE in any populated world and you'll see plenty of people socialising. The trading stays where it should be for most items (the GE), and people still socialise.

You just don't have the right perspective, man. Getting a trade offer is a lot like getting a (you). Then, the majority of trades is a lot like shit-posting. Finally, getting a good deal is like winning an online argument.

It was addicting, memorable, and full of adrenaline.

Runescape oldschool proved why democracy is a joke

Runescape will die soon. Probably within five years, is my bet. You can never relive the memories.

OSRS will die within the next 5 year. meanwhile I'll enjoy playing the current game that is updated weekly

>inb4 retards having a go at me
>inb4 retards thinking a deviant version of a game has a future
>inb4 retards thinking that adding a boss you can afk will keep the game alive

OSRS cucks on suicide watch confirmed.
>>
>>26962186
if you set your prices right it was a very quick and simple transaction most of the time. only when you attempted to buy an item for rock bottom prices, or sell one for a steep profit, was it ever difficult, hence why not everyone had the patience to do it.
>>
>bought a bond for $5

death would be preferable to playing RS3.

RIP DarkScape. At least OSRS players still have Dead Man Mode.
>>
>>26962229
i much prefer being able to just dump all my shit in the ge after a night of grinding
or if i'm about to start a quest and it needs a whole heap of stupid items that most people wouldn't normally just keep on hand i can buy them up and do the fucking quest without fucking around for an hour trying to acquire them
>>
>>26962331
that's why you had people selling quest kits, and just about everything else, on the forums. so they could capitalize on the inconvenience of acquiring those items in exchange for going through the inconvenience of having to stock up on hundreds of individual, miscellaneous items themselves. the GE made these people obsolete. when people play to blast through content and grind mindlessly it detracts from the game as everyone wraps themselves up in their own world within a world (the game world).
>>
>>26962446
>so they could capitalize on the inconvenience
you are a fucking jew aren't
>when people play to blast through content and grind mindlessly
i took the game at a casual pace in the early days but when it got to the point where i needed to kill 10000 monsters just to gain 1 strength level i stopped caring about muh immersion
>>
>>26961532
You need to get mole locator for doing the Falador hard diaries if you're serious about that pet, anon

It will speed the kills up considerably.

Anti-GE advocates are without a doubt post-08 players trying desperately to fit in with the redditor "GE killed the game I swear!!!!!!!" mentality. My account is in the top percentile of oldest accounts currently around, created in 2001. I played the game without pause from 2001 until 2010 and when the GE hit it was like the weight of a mountain was lifted from my shoulders.

Was it a cool novelty to be reduced to standing in a bank typing endlessly to sell/buy items for hours on end? Yeah it was charming the first few days of doing it, 12-15 years ago. But when I did that for the better part of 6 years, it ceased being anything but a nuisance real fucking quickly. Scouring 3rd party trading sites and the official forums trying to set up a trade, dealing with people who had no actual intention of paying anything near what you were asking and were just out to waste your time, checking your friends list to see what world they were on, going to their actual location. A "fun" little gimmick when Runescape was something you played casually and didn't mind wasting several hours of your playtime doing something needlessly tedious, but anyone who seriously played the game will tell you that it's nothing but rose tinted goggles painting trading as the great savior and defining aspect of RS.

>standing in Varrock West w301 or 330 searching three hours for a quest item

God I'm glad the GE is in the game, never again. There was hardly any player interaction involved anyway, most of it was done with autotypers.

Weath does a good job shutting the bots down, their macro detection is 10x what it was in 2007

RuneScape fucking sucks. I sunk years of my life into that idiotic game, got into the forums, and made around 22,000 posts. The only good and lasting thing that ever came of it is that I can type faster than anyone I've ever met.

RuneScape is just pointing and clicking, over and over and over again. I'm so happy I got a life once I got older.
