so not too long ago i saw a thread about how you can google search for (index of __). i got curious and searched for "index of movies" and after clicking the first link it brought me to pic related. there are hundreds of movies here you can download. i wonder what other shit you can find like this. do you think its actually safe to download this stuff?
>>
thats how my friend got all his music on his psp in 2007. He never did it at home though, he did it at the rec center. Take that how you will
>>
Unless you're a retard and download an .exe masquerading as a video file, the worst that could happen is you get a letter complaining about downloading copyrighted content.

And yes, there's literally a whole planet's worth of content out there for you to find with the right search queries. My favorites are unsecured internet-facing devices such as webcams and printers.
>>
>>26920910
was thinking of downloading some games like this, know of any decent free antivirus or anything?
>>
Damn OP, this is pretty handy.
I knew about indexes, but not that they were this easily searchable.
>>
>>26920910
also, how would i go about finding those unsecured webcams and other things?
>>
>>26920910
OP here again, would my ISP actually be able to tell i'm downloading copyrighted stuff like this?
>>
>>26920943
I've heard Malwarebytes recommended a lot, but no antivirus is unbeatable and when it comes to executables your best bet is to stick to reputable sources, like private trackers.

>>26920964
Sites like insecam make it easy for webcams because they do the hard work of crawling the web.
The basic gist of it though is that all these webcams and printers display the same generic web pages, which contain the same generic strings of text. If you isolate one of those string and search for it, the results will all be unsecured devices of a specific make or model.

>>26921006
Technically your ISP could tell, but ISPs don't give a fuck, they're just providers. The copyright holders (ie the big studios) will monitor certain sites/files and if they see your IP downloading something they'll send a strongly worded letter to your ISP, who will forward the letter to you. If you get enough letters your ISP might threaten to cut you off (because they don't want to get sued for providing you all that illegal content), but they want you to keep paying them money so they won't unless they absolutely have to.
>>
>>26921151
thanks for the responses, i already have Malwarebytes but ill just avoid the risk all together and just avoid exe's.
>>
>>26921212
If you're super concerned about malware, just download and watch anything inside a linux virutal machine or something.
>>
>>26921229
The viruses I'd be worried about are the kind that you don't even know are on your machine, putting them in a VM isn't going to help you find them
You could put them in a sandbox in a VM but who has time for All That Shit

Also your garden variety viruses won't but some advanced viruses can break out of a VM so don't think they're completely secure
>>
>>26921229
how can i find a linux virtual machine? im not the best when it comes to this type of computer stuff so idk what to look for
>>
>>26921299
i see. honestly i'm just curious and dont really care for downloading things all that much. there's so many personal photos you can find its intriguing.

It was nice knowing you f_a_m but I don't think I'm going to get away with hacking NSA.
>>
There's also Gnutella2 ("modern Limewire") and Direct Connect if you want to go on an adventure. People share all kind of personal stuff on there, photos and videos of gf/wife/ex, confidential documents, passwords etc.

Here's a relevant subreddit. If you look around a bit there are a few guides for searching for different shit. It's a fun way to spend a few hours, if nothing else

Reddit sucks. I blocked it with uMatrix to prevent my eyes from being exposed to its low-quality content.

Yup. For someone exploring the Gnutella2 and Direct Connect networks I recommend using a virtual machine (to prevent it from accessing your files) and also a VPN since FBI is monitoring those networks due to all those cheesy pizzas.
>>
>>26921628
i dont know how to use a virtual machine or anything like that, also dont know how to go about exploring Gnutella2 or Direct Connect

me again, would using TOR help at all?

>>26921314
Look up some VM software (ie Google virtual machine) and install a Ubuntu iso.
There's so much documentation.
>>
>>26921684
thanks for the response, ill take it into consideration. idk how far down the rabbit hole i'm willing to go

You can always dual boot, that's what works for me. I use Windows for muh games and office when I need to.
With Linux, it works a lot better after you set it up and get it working.
It's pretty cozy

i may do it eventually, ill need to learn and research how to do it

I use sandboxie. It runs everything in a sandbox that you can delete afterwards. Pretty handy for pirating games, downloading porn, etc.

Why do normies make images of their wife breastfeeding their newborn son available on the Internet for everyone? Fucking normies.

Also this search string might find you some stuff:

they're fucking everywhere, even when they don't realize it, creeping into everything they touch

I remember when there was that one thing being posted for awhile, it was a giant pastebin of collected urls for this one brand of external HDD you could access from anywhere. People never set up any security for it so you could browse through it all.

I think I ended up spending like 8 hours just digging through them. Found some nudes, found a lot of family vacation photos, found one that literally only had horse dicks on it, another which only had pictures of different model train setups. I wish I kept the pastebin saved.
>>
>>26922006
damn, that sounds wild, its creepy though, knowing anyone can probably access your personal shit.
>these captchas are too complex and i am tired
>>
>>26922047
If you're using the new captcha you could try enabling the legacy captcha. I find it a lot easier to solve.
>>
>>26921868
Have you ever checked out the "most recent" section of photobucket? People upload the weirdest shit. I stopped browsing after I saw in three successive images: Form including their actual address, front of credit card and then back of credit card.
>>
>>26922134
how do i enable the legacy captcha?

Settings (here on 4chan, not your browser). It stores the settings in a cookie so if you delete the cookie for 4chan it will also wipe your settings. Another option is to use 4chan X. Comes with other stuff too. It stores your settings locally in your browser profile folder so it's easy to backup and less risk of wiping by accident.

For full autism mode there's also OneeChan which let's to you customize the look of 4chan.

appchan x is also good.

OP the screenshot you posted is most likely autogenerated and fake. There are real instances of this but because of the spam sites like what you found they're rare. Also googling these things will make google give you captchas eventually :s
>>
So I've been going through photobuckets recent upload things for a bit now.
At this point I'm concerned I'm going to go to jail.

there's this site called 'jimmy r' which has a rally good refined OD search, used to use it for mp3's loads back in the day.
