I live in a pretty crime ridden place. Police kind of just don't show up around here at night anymore. More-so need to be weary of antagonized meth heads on night walks.

Opposite reason for me. I live in such a friendly town full of old people and the only real crimes that happen is smoking pot-and it's basically decriminalized here. The police don't give enough of a shit to patrol at night, in fact I haven't seen a police cruiser in ages.

I tend to walk along the main road a lot and find it pretty comfy. Never had any sort of trouble other than a cop ask what I was doing one night because "I looked kind of lost".
On my way back I stop by some railings on the main road and often see some urban foxes about if I'm there long enough. I've tried to get a few pics but didn't get my phone quick enough.

Well i'm located in canada so nobody has guns really. I'm very quick and have gotten more efficient as the years go on. I've had many close calls and the rush I get is indescribable. My life sucks i don't really have much to lose to be honest.

Before I moved they harassed me all the time, but I was living in a much more affluent location

Yes the city. But i hit different spots every night so sometimes i don't. I used to do it around campus a lot. After partys when everyone was fucked up i'd go out and break into cars. Watch out though, people are out at ALL times in those situations.

This is shit tier money making. Find people that want their insurance claim paid out and charge $500 each to jump up and down on the roof of their car until it's fully caved in. It can't be fixed on most cars so it's a write off and they'll be paid their agreed value.
Why would there be any issue with walking at night? I mean, if you're in a decent area, why would a cop question you? Even if they did, they don't have any grounds to arrest you if you're not doing anything illegal, there's no curfew or anything. At least not here in the US where I am.

Eh i have a good day job and for the time i invest it aint bad. I only do it a couple times a month now. In my prime i could get anywhere from 5-7 grand a month when i would break into work vans and clean them out.

I walked into an Asian store on Park Ave in Baltimore once during the day and went to buy some tea at the back of the store. a bunch of asian men followed me around the store and when I went to the register I saw what looked like a junky buying dope from some of Asians that I just didn't notice when I first walked in. After waiting at the register for a cashier I just put some money on the counter and left.
I never went back in that store again, I do walk by sometimes because I love walking through downtown Baltimore looking at all the junkies.
Why avoid the police?
Maybe shit is different in America, but I'm a Brit living in the countryside and I got stopped while walking in some back lane at like half 11 by some police
They asked if I was alright and I just said yeah, feel pretty ill so just getting some fresh air and they drove off

Most machine shops tend to be under employed too so you can ask them what they'd like you to know and go get that. Works for most jobs really.

I used to go on night walks in my neighborhood and at the local park I live in an affluent suburb with a very low crime rate so I always feel safe.
last year I lived on campus in a dorm, and always enjoyed the late night walk around campus. I live in an off-campus apartment now, so I don't get to do it as much.

I live in a dowtown high rise, it's maximum comfy for night walks
neon everywhere, lots of people for safety, but not overcrowded like in datlight, multiple convenience stores and food outlets if you need a drink or snack
