Depends on why are you drinking. If you're just depressed or, even worse, you have anxiety (the medical condition) it will just make everything worse
It kinda works though when your problems are more practical, tangible. When you have a lot of thoughts in your head and you get anxiety (the normie term this time), and you feel sick because you have to deal with so many things and problems, alcohol definitely helped me.
