I love Wildlife. Ultimate robot album
i didnt like wildlife as much as somewhere at the bottom at first, but i listened to it recently and realized how much the lyrics describe my life right now and im starting to warm up to it more

I am so hard right now.
I don't know if I like or dislike that every song on this album represents how I feel pretty acurately.

Also I haven't listened to La Dispute since a long ass time ago when I was obsessed with Such Small Hands

Can I still get into heaven if I kill myself!?

Not OP, but somewhere at the bottom felt almost too melodramatic, even for la dispute. Also something about the delivery really put me off.
Wildlife seemed to hit the sweet spot. The instrumentals were amazing, the vocals were toned down yet palatable, and the lyrics were incredibly emotional and existential without coming across as ridiculously angsty.
Just my opinion of course.

i recently found this album from browsing my recommendations in spotify. it's the first emo album that i found that i actually enjoyed in quite a while

this
also the mix on Wildlife was far better than the other albums. actually being able to hear every instrument clearly is so much better than the bass just being drowned.

I've had this stuck in my head for the past month.

i actually agree with you, somewhere at the bottom was very melodramatic and it had a very teenage angsty feel to it, but that's part of what i like about it. there are so many parts of it that feel so surged with emotion.
that's why i originally didnt like wildlife as much. it felt like that were trying to hard to push a concept and they lost a lot of the emotion from somewhere at the bottom and vancouver. i like it now more than i did originally, but i still cant say i like it as much as somewhere at the bottom.

Nolsey might be my favorite track, the lyrics really hit home for me, especially the bridge.
>I know you'll never love me, I pretend that you love me. You'll always be the reason I stay clean

It's not the only genre I listen to but I felt it fit the tone of the thread pretty well.

I don't know about that other album, but wildlife received pretty much universal acclaim from critics, and most of those aren't 16 year old girls.
I get its an emotional style of music, but it deals with some pretty esoteric and existential stuff, not just "wahh chad left me"
Feeling Rock N' Roll Suicide pretty hard right now
Tleilax by Roly Porter. Aftertime is a good album.

Listened to somewhere at the bottom again just now.
If this were instrumental it would be 10/10
