My mom was a project lead (for the main company product in her division of the company) at her job for 7 years. Despite having 5 kids and dad not doing enough around the house (and making a lousy wage, I'd rather have him be unemployed seriously). She's not extremely driven, stress resistant etc, she's just experienced and good at her job. She did break down eventually. But that's our family's fault, not her employers. If there were affirmative action that could help the home situation that'd be one thing. Giving people advantages in the workplace arbitrarily is just plain unreasonable unless you presume that women are worse.
I don't see why it's so complicated for you people. There's priorities and results. If a man spends all his time at his career he's gonna go far.
