28 year old guy here.
I have a steady 9-5 job which I enjoy, am financially independent, work out regularly, see my friends every week, have been in 2 serious relationships, and have had sex with 5 different women.
Ask me anything.
>>

Isn't Seth Rogen only 5'10? And I thought Zac Efron was 5'8?

Why is there such a noticeable disparity in their height difference?

>Alcohol, mostly. Scotch is my favorite.

Of course you do and of course it is and of course you would post this very typical thread about a painfully mediocre life full of dissatisfaction. You know why you only fucked 5 girls and you're 28? I'm sure you do.

With some luck I'll turn into you some day.

I'm not going for a high score or anything. To me, sex is something meaningful. I am really not a fan of one-night stands and hooking up.
>>26624139
You guys post some hilariously pathetic shit sometimes. It makes me feel like my life is awesome compared to you guys.

I'm honestly curious why you would think this.

i'm trapped in a shitty store job and cant afford to live without sharing an apartment which I hate
>>
>>26624255
It's with girls that aren't just pump n' dumps.
Girls I know, or girls that I've formed a connection with.
Example. It's always hotter to see nudes of someone you know, rather than just some random chicks nudes on the net. There's just something a bit more exhilarating about it.
>>
>>26624255
>How is it meaningful?
It's the most intimate physical act you can perform with someone.
To me, having sex is an expression of love. I mean it results in the creation of new life, even though we can control that in this day and age.
Yeah you can turn it into something you do just for pleasure, like smoking a cigarette or cracking your knuckles, but I like to think of it as something more.
>>26624288
>how do you afford your own place?
I share a 2-bedroom duplex with a roommate for a little over $350 a month plus utilities. Housing is not very expensive in the town I live in. I make about $20k a year which is not a lot, but I keep a pretty good handle on my budget and save when I can.

Pretty nice. It's 50 degrees and sunny which is a nice change from all the snow my region got last week. I would be out for a hike to enjoy the warm sunshine, but the melting snow has turned all the paths to muddy sludge.

I hate that everyone has this advantage that I don't. Society isn't set up for people without parents and being in this position is crippling

Also you share a house and depend on a room mate and on your parents, you really aren't in any position to be answering questions on being successful and stable

Yeah I am fortunate to have the advantage of wealthy parents. However, It's much more satisfying to me to live my life by my own means, so unless I'm at rock bottom again I'm not going to go to them asking for money.
I don't depend on my parents anymore. I used to, as I stated in OP. How does having a roommate take away from my success in any way? I live within my means and pay all of my financial obligations with what I earn on my own.

On a scale of happiness from 1 to 10, I'm probably about a 6. I'm not unhappy, but things could be better.

If you're good at something, can come into contact with a person willing to pay for you to do that thing, can then convince them you are good enough at this thing to be paid well for it, can avoid injury and continue to do the thing well for a time without fucking up at the wrong time, and are the kind of person that gets along with the other people involved then you might make money.

m8, pls.

You can be the best at X, but if they only guy in town that wants X thinks you're an ackward ugly piece of shit that needs to stay 10 miles from his factory at all times then being great at X doesn't really help you at this time.

The world seldom is as simply as go to school for X, immediately get job in X, make $.

You have to be good at X, go to school to get paperwork to prove you are good at X, work shitty jobs related to X to put on resume, write tests and do interviews for the good jobs related to X, hope you pass the tests and that the interview HR fucks like you, etc etc.
>>

I'm not the fuck that makes $20k, bud.

I know this because I've been working for more than a decade and have had at least 7 jobs I can think of.

>restricting your job search to a single town

Which is why I clearly states "at this time", dumbass. Of course moving is an option, and in that situation I would do it, but that won't automatically work anyway.

28 year old girl here.
I have an easy 9-5 job (I usually turn up about 10ish and leave about 4ish) which I enjoy, am financially independent but most of my dates are paid for by guys, work out when I feel like it, see my friends every day, have been in 19 relationships, and have had sex with about 40 different guys.
Ask me anything.

>implying you wouldn't literally kill to be a unionized video game player
>>
>I have a steady 9-5 job

>am financially independent

Uh I doubt it, if you're still working full time.

>Financial independence is generally used to describe the state of having sufficient personal wealth to live, without having to work actively for basic necessities.[1] For financially independent people, their assets generate income that is greater than their expenses. For example, a person's quarterly expenses may total $4,000. They receive dividends from stocks they have previously purchased totaling $5,000 quarterly, while also having more money in other assets. Under these circumstances, a person is financially independent.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_independence

Financial independence means you don't have to work to sustain yourself. If you're working a 9-5 job then most likely you are not financially independent--but rather, you're dependent on your wages.
>>
>>26627508
Nah I just wanna know. I figured a person with valuable skills would know that it's easy to find work in a world full of underqualified underachievers. I'm assuming you do unskilled work

how have you not killed yourself yet?

serious question im 24 and considering it. i'm not lonely, i have a whole list of people i should call up but i just don't. i'm depressed and unmotivated by life.

how do i crawl out of the hole?
>>
>>26623964
>I have a steady 9-5 job which
No you don't, nobody does. That is just a defense mechanism. Deep down you want to be rich and not have to work a 9-5, but since you have to, you say you enjoy to make yourself feel better, and look better to others. But really, you are miserable and don't want to be wagekeking.
>>
>>26627614

You can assume whatever you want.

For instance I'm assuming your parents paid for your school and you then got a job through someone they know.

You feel you're a self made man and you did it all yourself just by being so damn skilled, right?

That it doesn't matter how fucking skilled you are, you can get hit by a car, it might turn out that ex that hates you works in HR, you could get sick two days before the interview, etc.

This isn't a just world where you win just for trying hard and being good at something.

Skill is only part of the equation, your ability to convince other people or even just dumb luck is as important as anything else.

My one rep max deadlift is just over 250lbs, so somewhere between 200lbs and 250lbs would be the absolute heaviest girl I would date, and she would have to have a really pretty face and a stunning personality.
Honestly it's not simply about the weight though. I want to date a girl who gives enough of a shit to take care of herself, and fat girls generally don't.

I'm a content writer for a marketing company. Something that actually uses my English degree, so I'm pleased in that regard.
This current job is just a stepping stone as I gain a little industry experience. To be honest I know that I am well underpaid for the work I do, which in reality goes far beyond simple writing. I have taken on a lot of SEO and web development tasks, and I have become a de-facto project manager as well. In the next year or two I will take what I have learned and transition to a higher paying job elsewhere, unless I get a significant raise.

And just took things day by day. It has taken a lot of work to get to the point where I am consistently happy.

Really though, in this thread alone we've seen that to have a good job one must be skilled, able to socialize properly or else the boss or their fellow workers will deal with them, possess a sense of duty and work ethic, persevere when things go against them, and just plain lucky not to get sick or injured.
