I can't stand people that argue that video game sports are real sports.
>>
>>26621169
It's just their special way to call it. I like """""esports""""" but they're just competitive video games not sports
>>
>>26621169
exactly, esports are much, much better.

Do any robots even follow sports? I don't get that, how is that not fucking boring?
For example I like playing football, but watching someone play it either on tv or live is fucking boring.

that was cool. i love when fighters do unconventional things to win.
breaking guard like that is pro. black guy shoulda stayed on his toes.

Buakaw would do unconventional shit, that's what made him good. he would throw guys down and leg sweep people (thats legal in k1) inside of the clench. i don't care if people say it's cheap, it's thinking outside of the box and having a weapon for every situation.

Also anyone here who didn't follow sports growing up but now does - how , why ?

Counter strike is literally a sport. Take the ball (bomb) and go score. The defenders try to stop you. It's the exact same shit as football, basketball, soccer, etc. Just better.

Can't really say that it's not a sport without saying that sports aren't sports either and that's just fucking stupid.
>>
>>26622106
This is the most cancer post I've seen in quite a while.
>>
>>26622106
you dont have to make much effort physically in counter strike. in real sports, muscles are trained and stretched and worked, in esport its mostly mental work and reaction abilities. although i dont personally follow any sports, i can see why some people do. it displays the peak of physical human condition, our strength and genetics passed through generations being utilized into entertaining events that represents a social class or a nation. sports are beautiful, sportsmen are mostly chad assholes, but the ones who are decent can be really nice

Maybe one day 60 minutes will have a ground-breaking investigation of carpal tunnel, with the same society reactions as concussions in the NFL

>implying society gives a shit about the nfl
the whole world isnt just usa amerifat.

This is the real problem, people don't understand how the game works. The game is designed to be skill based, the way that the mechanics work require a huge amount of coordination and dexterity. People spend thousands of hours on practice maps running drills and training their aim to the limit.

Nobody's physically exerting themselves as much as in some other sports but that's not important. Sport =/= exercise. It's much better in some ways, nobody ever gets injured playing counter strike for example. It also doesn't matter how old or female you are in a purely skill based sport like cs, everyone's equal at the end of a gun.
>>
sport's are just the old term for games. sport and game are synonymous and always have been
>>
>>26622451
It's a good thing that 60 minutes is from America than you mongoloid.

The reason that sports are better than "esports" is that esports are objectively useless.

Some big beefy rugby player is physically strong, which is useful in the real world and is objectively impressive. Sports require physical and mental robustness.

A CSGO player doesn't get any transferable skills from playing CSGO. They are just good at a video game, which isn't really transferable into the real world. Esports only require mental skills very specific to that game.

why do pro-gamers get so preoccupied with comparing themselves with athletes etc??

it makes more sense to compare pro-gaming with professional poker or chess and things like that.
I'm not trying to devalue the effort and commitment needed to be a pro-gamer.

is it a sponsorship thing linked to sports energy drinks???
>>
>>26622566
Functional strength is a meme and unless you need it for your profession you're only going to injure yourself and negatively impact your health overall. Everyone is specialized in modern society, instead of wasting time getting big for the one day in your life that you need to move a fucking couch just hire the guy whose job it is to be big and strong and move couches every day.

BTW counter strike pros are stone cold fuckin killas senpai, they put special forces all over the world to shame. Not that it's a useful skill either since nobody ever needs to do special forces shit in their everyday life either. ;^)

>>26621591

The strategy , the characters , the narratives (underdog vs champion, rivalries, lucky win , unlucky defeat ...etc) , the history. The fan community (getting a bunch of your friends together to watch big games.)
>>
>>26622457
>>26622457
If what your saying is true that means that anything that requires at least a little bit of skill is a sport. Chess is now a sport, fucking is a sport, wiping your ass is a sport, board games are sports.

These including videogames are just activities not sports.
>>
>>26622038
I cant explain the appeal, but ever since I picked up tennis I've loved watching it. I mainly only watch the slams and some masters when I'm bored, but its incredible seeing what theae guys can do. Its also fun watching my favorite young guys develop their games, like Raonic at the Aus Open
>>
>>26622567
It's just them feeling small dicked.

There's still the old jock versus nerd mentality as well.

I don't give a fuck, honestly. They're both games. Win loss scenarios, teams, good and bad players. People who fight over trivial differences are morons.

E-sports is a thing now. It's making money. Looks like it's here to stay.
