people in this country are incredibly stupid, they dont understand that elections influence the distribution system and economy. and if they do understand that, they lack the intelligence to understand the scale.
stupid people do not understand the benefits of public expenditure (transportation, schools, law enforcement, military protections, mass employment) or foolishly think that they can have these things without cost.
finally people are so stupid they don't think there are political alternatives. they think that income tax is the only way to raise revenue and the regressive, punitive tax scheme we have is entirely the fault of the democrats and not the forced compromise they have made with republicans, so they envision the political left as making their lives worse when really its republicans ensuring that the middle class is used as a cash donkey while fortunes of the wealthy go untouched....
i could go on but really its just people are so fucking stupid and they are fed constant bullshit at best and finally everyone over 40 years old is completely compromised by propoganda and growing up in a world with no internet and constant lies in the media.
