If the universe is growing colder how do earthlike planets, or any high energy rock simply not freeze now?

Should be like dropping a hot pea in a pool of liquid nitrogen. The volume of darkness rapes any small mass in conparison.

also the sun is releasing massive amounts of energy...

Probably because we have a giant self sustaining nuclear bomb many times the size of our planet constantly blasting us with radiation.

If the world is warming why aren't the oceans boiling?

That's a very naive view of the idea of heat-death. (I say that in the least hostile way possible.) Put simply: our planet does not rely on the ambient heat of the universe (of which, there really isn't any in a manner of speaking), and even if it did, the universe isn't really just slowly freezing, at least not in any meaningful rate.

And the universe, too, faces death. Scientists tell us that the universe is expanding, and everything in it is growing farther and farther apart. As it does so, it grows colder and colder, and its energy is used up. Eventually all the stars will burn out and all matter will collapse into dead stars and black holes. There will be no light at all; there will be no heat; there will be no life; only the corpses of dead stars and galaxies, ever expanding into the endless darkness and the cold recesses of space - a universe in ruins. So not only is the life of each individual person doomed; the entire human race and the entire edifice of human civilization is doomed. There is no escape. There is no hope.

You're an idiot. It's getting colder in the sense that the energy is being transformed to low tier heat energy, it's basically evening itself out as the simplest form of energy, just following the law of entropy.

There is no actual temperature in fucking space itself, only what the stars put out, if there was just our sun and our planets in the entire universe and everything else was completely blank everything would still be the same here as it is now.

My fucking god I didn't know that /r9k/ was this retarded.

There is no "using up" energy, only transforming it into a different type of energy.

>there will be no heat
Yes, there would be, just an incredibly small amount spread out throughout the universe.

same thing faggot, the point is that the universe will not be sustainable
imagine heating a huge hangar with a tiny stove

This desu senpai, the sun is VERY BIG and VERY HOT and even though it's a gorrillion miles away that's actually very close in cosmic scale.

Anon, even if everything else disappeared but our sun things wouldn't change for us. Other systems moving away means jack shit for the individual system.

There is no 'heating up' space by the form of galaxies or the likes. Space doesn't have fucking heat or cold, it doesn't have a temperature, it's a fucking void. The stars aren't heating up the universe like a gorrilion stoves shoved into a hangar. The heat is simply being transformed into a less chaotic form of energy, a more stable and even form, which is just simple low heat. So in the end all there will be is planets flung out of orbit, black holes and a fucking mist of low energy photons covering the universe. The universe won't lose anything, just transform.
