I'll agree that in the case of mother's who choosing to breastfeed a toddler that there is no need to breastfeed in public, that child is more than equipped for water and solids - they can wait until they get home. However, with infants under one I don't see why it should be an issue, breastmilk is their primary food source, they need it.
Why is it so hard for you to simply look away? Almost every other country takes no issue with public breastfeeding, women have been doing it for centuries without it being considered a "cry for attention" - its really only an issue to Americans.
