I do not get this thread. Bidets are not common in any country. Bidets are for a richer class of people in each country. Normally people know how to wipe their ass without wasting water, but if you have the money you may get a bidet installed to make it easier. I am not American, that is why I am confused why you made this thread? I think in France it may be more common or something but it still costs extra.
