I've over 5000 hours of anime and I still think cosplaying is for faggots.
I once went to a cosplay event because my friend wanted me to. I took the best and easiest option I could, I wasHOHOUIN KYOMA
I have done very shitty cosplays. I am not good at it. I tend to do kind of underrated characters so quality isn't that important.
Here's a shitty helmet I made once. It almost killed me.

Mine was pretty accurate, didn't shave for 3 weeks then shaved the beard to match. The yellow line on the jacket looked off from a short distance but it worked. Used a black upper part of a cotton tracksuit (cheap).
But I almost never watch anime now, and the only one I would say I'm a fan of is Eva.
