Honestly, I am constantly in severe emotional pain and the only thing that can take my mind off it is indeed warcraft. Watching movies, listening to music, watching anime, reading mangas, all those things have just become more painful over time and incapable of numbing me down to where I can survive this pain. Even in my sleep I am not safe from it.
With world of warcraft I can escape, it's the only option.

I'd agree with you if it was 2004 but WoW is pretty much a solo experience now.
Even when you interact with others it doesn't register as human interaction, trust me.
The way the game is designed right now, other people might as well be NPCs.
You can even get into a mythic guild if you're good, log on TS and be the silent guy, no one will care as long as you don't fuck up.
And unless you want to do mythic there is 0 need for you to interact with people, grind some gear, go to the group finder tool, queue up, get invited, do the bosses, gg.
Or farm bgs if you do pvp.

God damn, I feel like I could have typed that myself. My brain chemistry makes life incredibly painful, constant crushing depression, horrible intrusive negative thoughts and intense loneliness. I play video games 24/7 and it helps slightly but sadly I've already like 200 games in the last five years, there's not much else left besides obscure indies (which are great in their own way but I've played so many of them.) Triple-A games are so incredibly generic, it's just saddening. I take kratom all day to cope with my brain. Do you know what could have caused your depression? While I agree that Wrath was the beginning of the end, Cataclysm nearly turned it all around. Dungeons were hard again, questing was completely revamped and 85-90 zones were fun, crafting was stable, raids were the best since BC, and a great soundtrack. On release, it was a love song to vanilla. Unfortunately, wrathbabbies whined on the forums and they nerfed it all to shit and never dared to create challenging content again.

Nope I started playing in 2005, and the game died with the addition of LFR. The whole community of needing to band together in guilds to experience content fell apart. WOTLK was stupid, but it was still WoW, it still kept to the basic game model that made it work.

I half agree with you. If anything, what you're saying just reinforces my statement because wotlk didn't just destroy the game it also destroyed the community, hence rendering warcraft beyond saving because after that point even if blizzard was killing to fix it, they wouldn't be allowed.
This game quickly went from catering to the lowest common denominator to having a playerbase comprised mostly OF the lowest common denominator.
But for me, no matter cataclysm did it wouldn't be warcraft anymore. The aesthetics of the game changed too much. Sure I appreciate the new graphics too, especially Pandaria, but it's a different feel, it's like comparing sex with your average gf that you love to sex with a 10/10 prostitute. Sure, the latter is enjoyable and mindblowing but at the end of the day the former is a more fulfilling experience.
Just look at what happened to Brill. It went from being the iconic forsaken aesthetic to something like Tim Burton backdrops. Is it cool? Sure, but it's not what we fell in love with.

LFR is just LFDMKII, ofc it was a gigantic offense to the game but it was just a continuation of the game
the LFG tool in general, CRZ, the quest helper on the map, those are the broader things that destroyed the community and the experience of the game
did you know that the actual instructions in the quests have been removed? I was blown away when I realized that after trying to level and alt ironman mode recently. I tried to interpret the quest text in a way that helped me identify my objective and it was simply impossible, it was just flavor text
WoW is an rpg where the quests don't actually tell you what to do, because they've replaced all functionality with interfaces

As someone who's 13/13M, it isn't a solo experience, you can pug the first 5 bosses on mythic easily enough, but before the ring/valor upgrades Gorefiend was actually an aids encounter, even with 20 competent players.
I must admit you could play it solo, farm old raids, visit every zone, complete Loremaster, it has enough entertainment for a solo playstyle for a good few months. And if you can stand solo BGs I guess some more hours into that.
