I thought after that was all paid off I'd go for it, since my parents still had my sister....

What shithole are you from that you inherit debt? If you have a lot of debt you probably don't have a lot of assets for them to inherit when you die anyway. Your debts get taken from your estate but if you don't live in the land of baba ganoush or something your debts die with you.
