im going on a trip soon and ill have to stay with someone ive never met in an appartment style room. thats scary enough but the problem is: ive never used toilet paper, nor do i want to, but i cant bring tge right water-holder with me on the trip

take off a few sheets and fold them into a square. wipe your ass with it. look at the dirty paper before you throw it in the toilet. if there's a lot of shit on it, take some more sheets and keep wiping. if there's nothing left (or only a very tiny amount) you're done.

I never take a dump outside of my house and I always hop in the shower right after. I get way too paranoid about smelling like shit/streak marks. if I'm gonna wash myself right after, it doesn't really matter if there's a tiny bit left.

Wipe your ass with toilet paper until the paper is no longer brown after wiping, then take two wet baby wipes. Rub your ass real good with the first baby wipe (rub up and down, fold once or twice if you can) and just finish off with the second.
After that grab some toilet paper again and dry your ass. You don't want to leave your ass wet.

Have you considered buying/bringing a travel pack of flushable wet wipes? That might be a better choice for you then trying to use toilet paper for the first time while staying with someone.
