Hey /r9k/ any anime watchers here? I'm looking for something that's just gunna fuck up my shit emotionally.
Already seen pic related
Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion
KnK is pretty patrician.
Might be a little heavier than what you're looking for though.
Clannad + After Story
>>26237168
oh yeah pic
Kill LA Kill was pretty good.
This absolute gem
>>26237271
I remember trying to watch the first episode, those subs were flying
>>26237271
good taste my guy
Watch Planetes
It doesn't really require you to have any anime experience to understand properly and it's pretty well grounded on personal relationships for a SF show
>>26237271
>telling someone who isn't used to subs to watch the fasted subs of any show
What could possibly go wrong?
>>26237370
How was he supposed to know you aren't used to subs?
>>26237388
He's obviously new to anime since he's asking for vague recommendations. Unless he's into foreign film that means he's also new to subs.
PING PONG! by the same director as tatami galaxy. it's really emotional and i think a lot of people on r9k would like it a lot. it's only 11 eps too
School Days is a pretty interesting emotional ride
>>26237271
I fucking love this anime. The writing is like no other.
>>26237108
>>26237170
shit taste tbqh
Texhnolyze is possible the most depressing anime
berserk maybe.
>>26238241
>anime

Are you fucking serious, /r9k/?
Go watch NHK ni Youkoso, OP.
Also, watch the sub versions, don't be a fucking faggot.
>>26238241
>watching Berserk instead of reading it
Pretty dumb to be honest
>>26238304
NHK is a series best watched when you already know a bit about anime culture and have seen a lot of anime, since there are a lot of references (and outright criticisms) of it in the show.
Not that he wouldn't enjoy it, but still
>>26237108
Bokurano: Ours
Saikano
Welcome to the NHKRequired watching for robots who like anime.
>>26238304
>tfw normies watch this show now
>mfw my friend watched it and just made fun of Satou the whole time
>>26238304
The second half of this show was complete shit. The manga ended things much better.
Lelouch of the Rebellion
Aldnoah Zero
>>26238333
That's true, but it's still a must watch for robots. Also, he said something that would fuck him up emotionally, so this is a pretty good anime for that.
>>26238359
>tfw some normie weeb I know said
"hey guise, you know, there is this weird anime about a guy that stays in his home all day lol do people like this actually exist? XD"
kill me desu
>>26238382
I didn't read the manga. I didn't know it ended differently.
>>26237271
Seconded. Just watched it recently. It feels like it took Welcome to the NHK's tone, Monogatari's monologues and Sayonata Zetsubou Sensei's artstyle, mashed them together and spraypainted some groundhog day all over it.
>>26238346
To be clear these are animes to make you sad. I was assuming that's what op was asking for.
>>26238433
>"hey guise, you know, there is this weird anime about a guy that stays in his home all day lol do people like this actually exist? XD"
This is almost exactly what he said to me. "Dude have you seen this comedy anime about some guy called a heekohmoree or something? I never knew people could get like that; it's fucking hilarious!"
"Oh y-yeah, that sounds funny."
>>26238304
I guess it goes without saying. Also it's pretty overrated and sugar-coated, there are other series that deal with the same themes much better.
>>26237181
what this?
>>26237108
school live
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam is pretty depressing, desu senpai.
>>26237108
just leaving this here
>dark laughter
>mfw watching lolicon the first time yesterday
>>26238592
>filename
Kara no Kyoukai, it's about a cold-hearted witch and her busty mentor, and their beta errand-boy.
>>26238692
And Haagen Daz ice cream. Don't forget that.
>>26238548
Can you name them I'm interested?
>>26238750
me too, I want this information.
>>26238750
Watamote is kind of similar, and has a more depressing ending.
Paranoia Agent deals a lot with mental illness and nihilism.
Not anime, but Oyasumi Punpun is great.
Just finished food wars first season. Hilarious
>>26237446
2nding this shit, just finished it last night
God that one sequence in the middle of the show where peco gets drunk on chocolates around christmas time, just a feels montage
This show isn't heavy handed in the least though, which is something you rarely see in anime.
I recommend Mushishi also if you have an attention span. It will invoke feelings you didn't even know you had.
>>26238346
>watching Bokurano
>>26238982
This scene? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VIAU6FqpP0
madoka magica. it's cute for about 2 episodes, then gets dark really fast.
Are you willing to read some, OP? If so, read Legend of the Strongest Man, Kurosawa. It's the story of a middle aged robot, I honestly think it should be required reading over here.
Welcome to the NHK
Though, it's pretty depressing and makes you feel like shit
just finished lain
needless to say i dont understand shit
>>26238840
Good taste my friend
If anyone is still lurking read oyasumi punpun you fucks
>>26237108
Your lie in April
Fucked my shit um f a m
>>26237370
Least they didn't say SZS
>>26239566
You mean you don't seem to understand?
>>26237108
You could try this one, it drags on a bit and some eps are a tad repetitive, but the ending is very rewarding.
>>26241048
a shame he seemed an honest man
Watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes
It's not feels bait or anything, but there are points in the series where you will have your emotions thoroughly fucked
>>26238840
>>26240829
What is it about? I'll start reading it but I want to have a bit of insight into it before I start reading it.
>>26241142
I love you, anon-san.
>>26237108
Madoka if you want to see girls suffer. It's 12 episodes, but takes until the 3rd episode to get dark.
>>26241223
>Punpun is an ordinary young boy growing up in Japan whose age of innocence has reached its end after his father is arrested for spousal abuse resulting in putting Punpun's mother in hospital. With his uncle looking after him, Punpun grows into adulthood facing a series of events which change him, for better or worse, forcing him to contemplate just what it means to be an adult.
my favourites:
angel beats (most by key are pretty 'feelsy', like clannad etc), ping pong, cowboy bebop (especially when you hear the music/saxaphone at the last scene come in), i can watch cowboy bebop 1000 times and it still feels like the first time watching it...
