I made fun of people on anti-depressants until I started having crazy panic attacks. I would get intrusive homicidal/suicidal thoughts. Those thoughts would lead me to believe that I'm going crazy and I'd either hide or run from my house because those thoughts scared me. I was a basket case.
The doctor gave me Klonopin for short term management until the Lexapro kicked in. Those meds saved my life.
They gave me an opportunity to find the reason/pattern for/in my issues. I had a crazy candida overgrowth that caused me to become anemic. Any time I'd eat sugar or yeast I'd go off the deep end.
I'm not on any meds any longer. As long as I keep away from yeast/sugar I'm fine.
