For example, say one guy gets 10 dollars an hour and another gets 10.5 dollars an hour. They work 7 hours everyday for 10 years.
The first guy gets $255500 at the end of his ten years.

The implications in life are basically nothing. In schooling though. Usually a high IQ means you're a little better at math and physics and some critical concepts than the average person. It typically also means you're faster at learning and retaining technical concepts.
The high IQ has nothing to do however with knowledge of religion, philosophy, history, critical thinking, morality, values, and other such concepts.

it's true that iq tests have a big variability, that's why i posted my mensa membership, because its test is the most consistent around and it only states you are above 130 sd 15.
i started taking these tests when i realized i could do great in school in logical subjects as maths physics philosophy and also foreign languages with little to no effort. i got into mensa and then i took some of the so called "High range iq tests", basically you have unlimited time to solve them and your score is related to an iq. their standardization is not reliable but i've had consistent scores across multiple tests, from 150 to 165, also some og the people that make these are well known geniuses.

It means absolutely fucking nothing unless it's in conjunction with other personality traits such as being able to work hard, and having the motivation to do more than just sit around and jerk off.
Even with that motivation, it just means you will have a slightly better ability to understand new concepts than another person with a moderate or lower IQ.
The scale is only really useful when discussing real life ramifications of your score for people with well below average results.
