So I'm 30, never been laid, and still struggle to talk to people. I pretty much through everything into career mode for the last 8 years.
What are some normal things I can do to help before I trainwreck into 40 and suicide?
Why not just get it over with?
If you want to catch fish then go fishing. If you want to lose weight then diet and exercise. Its not rocket science anon.
If you want to meet girls then interact with girls. If you want to go on dates, ask girls out. If you want sex then go to a brothel or have a one night stand or sleep with your future gf.
If you don't know how to talk to women then practice until you get better.

Then what happens if one does those things and still fails? I went to the gym regularly and went out to bars every weekend, and hit on plenty of girls and got shot down. I "practiced" for 2 years and I never once had any hookups or dates from it.

I'm pretty shit with conversations, and that's where a lot of my problems arose. Sure I talked bout work, university, movies, traveling and what was going on in the bar.
