sometimes, and i've said this in public to people i barely know who are friends of friends at bars. sometimes i think we need a really long term elected body to handle long term problems. i don't think change from within and weak government is going to be able to handle the (multiple, including but not limited to environmental change) extinction level events we are throwing ourselves into, or which are just inherent on the earth/in the universe.
idk if thats facism per se but we need something that seems less like democracy and has longer lasting, heavier powers to enact long reaching plans. i think a lot of how that would work out would be pretty facist seeming to a lot of people.

we would need to have some good way of electing these people, probably another elected body to handle monitoring the long term body. or something. i'm not saying its foolproof but i literally think democracy is incapable of solving these problems due to how election cycles work.
