I personally think this is the right way to watch it. Even though it's not in chronological order, it's the order that it was released in. If they didn't want people watching it in that order, they'd have done it chronologically. Don't ask me why they did it, crazy Japs man.
The actual chronological order is bizarre, from memory I believe it is:

tl;dr just watch it in the airing order, everybody else does otherwise you'll have to wait for it to be finished before you can watch it chronologically. It's not a show for everyone but don't give up on it after one episode, some episodes are slow with a lot of talking, others are quite action packed. It's probably my favourite series.
