OP from the thread where I said a girl randomly contacted me and wanted to run a project through me. Here's an update, and a very weird story.
So she came to my dorm, and we just talked at first about class and shit. She started asking me how I was with girls which I found awkward but I basically decided to be honest with her and just say I'm okay now but I used to be pretty awkward in highschool. The "Project" she wanted to show me was basically a pitch for me to join some sort of pyramid-esque scheme called world ventures, which is at its core a multi-level marketing network.
Read about it and its structure here:

She told me to join her and that "together we'd build an empire" and she also talked about showing it to other kids in our class.
I basically said I'd consider it, but that I wasn't going to make a decision now until I knew what it was because she didn't explain it that throughly (Not her fault, it's probably meant to be flashy and disorienting to tempt people into joining.)
I have no intention of joining this, because the amount of effort it would take to actually make money of it is simply not worth my time and I could probably make more if I just worked a part time job.
Regardless, I told her we should hang out more because as a person I like her, and I don't want to see her fall into the scam that this really is, even if it's legally allowed.
What a weird fucking experience. Apparently the guy who signed up whoever recruited her is coming down to my college next week and she said I could meet him. Dude basically dropped out of college as a Sophomore and makes money this way. From what she's told me about him, he's basically a very smooth talker and probably good at manipulating people to push his agenda. Thoughts on how to proceed, /adv/? As an outside observer this could be fun.
