A combination of this and that as you get older your perception of time alters. for example as an infant one year is equal to one year of your life, but then you're 25 one year is 1/25th of your life, so in comparison it feels shorter.
I will say though, occasionally I stay away from the internet and my smartphone and life seems mind numbingly slow and boring.

Quit smoking, start going to the gym (I got a membership in September and have been only once) i was doing good on the not smoking but i broke down and got a pack today because i got coupons in the mail.

Get a schedule and gradually have less everyday. Maybe get nicotine gum or patches. Record how many you smoke a day, and hopefully by the end of the year you are less than 1 a week.
It's a long process and you can't rip yourself away from it.

I find that the easiest way to "stop" smoking is to cut yourself back to "only in public"/social, if you have friends. I was a heavy smoker, and in december decided to stop. I completely quit smoking on my own, but allowed myself to smoke when I was at the bar (The one I go to allows smoking. I go there once a week to smoke in a comfy indoor setting and bullshit with the bartender who recognizes me and treats me well, and maybe have conversation with other people, although it's rare), and around normies who smoke. I now have no problem not smoking by myself, except occasionally when the feels trigger me too much, but that's only once a week. This is also during a time of cutting back from getting absolutely shitfaced drunk every single night, to only on weekends, with light drinking during the week. Start tracking your calories and macros while working out, and I think you'll see a stronger sense of dedication to your diet, which ties directly into drinking (well, for me, at least), and eventually smoking. I find every drink makes me feel a feeling of "Is this worth the effort I put into working out this week?"
