I'm 22 and produce music, so I am around a lot of 18 year-olds in the local scene while I'm working.
I can honestly say that I always treat them with respect, 'cuz talented younger people are always gonna be on the forefront of what's cool, but there are certain things that piss me off about 18 year-olds.

My point is that people in their early twenties are definitely different enough from people in their late teens to be able to criticize them and vice versa. You can't call somebody a retard for engaging in this practice. That was precisely the point at hand.
What kind of facts do we need to back this up? Hmm... how about the fact that somebody 4 years older than another person will have graduated middle/high school or college when the younger person is just starting those things? Is that enough for you? Won't the older person be able to give advice about those things? But, won't the times have changed enough to where the advice doesn't necessarily apply to the younger person? Think about somebody who graduated college before snapchat and tinder were things. Don't you think that the dating scene is probably different now than it was for them, for example?
