Not that guy but Egypt's alright. Didn't go to Cairo or any of the cities, I think that was for the best. I went to Dahab which isn't far from Sharm El Sheikh. The people are pretty friendly, although I didn't see a single woman. Being hassled by merchants and stuff gets pretty annoying but as long as you know how to deal with it it's alright. Tonnes of stray cats everywhere. Also loads of children trying to sell you shit, that fucked me off quite a bit. Don't get me wrong though, the people are very kind generally and are always wanting to make you feel welcome.
The food is very nice, especially authentic Bedouin food, but you need to be careful what you eat as you can get some nasty stomach bugs since standards of hygiene are pretty poor. On that topic, the streets are pretty disgusting. Dust everywhere and loads of animal shit, even saw a few dead cats.
Where I went there's tonnes of fun shit to do like diving and jeep safari. We did quad driving and camel riding, which was pretty cool. The highlight of the trip was going to a Bedouin camp in the mountains for a traditional meal and to gaze at the stars, which are really clear at night.
I went in winter so the temperature was pretty mild, but I've heard it can reach 40 degrees celsius regularly in the summer so you need to be mindful of that. Only drink bottled water and don't use tap water to brush your teeth and stuff.
