Eh, we obviously have different ideas of what shapeshifting entails. I always interpreted it as complete and perfect genetic control. You could increase intelligence by optimizing brain architecture or adding more brain matter. You could heal almost anything by speeding up cell duplication, and you wouldn't really have to age as your cells would be perfect copies of the original.
