How many hours have you folks gamed? And I mean all games. From pokemon on your gameboy to MMO to ps, xbox to computer games? I'm making estimations and I'm feeling kinda sick tbhq. Don't get me wrong, I love/used to love gaming. But man, I kinda want all that time back. Imagine doing something productive with that time, my god.
It's a four number figure. I could have learned an instrument or a language in that time. Or I could have mastered a valuable skill.
At least I learned relatively early on that my parents were in fact correct about not being able to sit around playing videogames forever. Helps that more and more games suck ass and are crazy overpriced these days.

Same. At least 5% of my life wasted on fucking games. Sure, I somewhat liked it, learned some stuff, socialized a bit, and trained some skills, it's still a HUGE waste of time. Where were my parents to scream at me to stop?! Jk

I have 1300 hours on TF2. That would be majority of my time spent gaming.
Tens of thousands of hours. I don't feel bad. Even if I had the time back I would have just wasted it some other way.

Thing is I don't really think my level of happiness or satisfaction would be better if I'd spent that time dong something else. I'd still probably be an autist with zero friends and shit social skills, even if I used that time to "put myself out there." Whenever I do make a conscious effort to get out more and meet people I end up spilling spaghetti everywhere inevitably and making memories that shame and embarrass me for years.. I have a good job and make decent money, so vidya hasn't really stopped me from that, and I'm already in decent shape, so although I could have been a bodybuilder or expert martial artist or something with all that time, I don't really care. I've lifetime played probably about 5k hours worth of sports anyway, and I ok w that.
Mastering a language or instrument would have been nice though I guess, and reading thousands more books than the hundreds I already have read or traveling more too would also have been nice. Those are the only other things I can think of that would have been better.
Question to the robots who look back at vidya as time wasted though, what would have rather done with that time that you can't do now?
