She was 16 and it was an easy enviable death.
I held it together until after but I was still a mess. I'm sorry for your loss OP. I'll never be as close to anything as I was with that dog but she was a Collie and an absolute athlete right up into middle age. It was worse to see her alive trying to eat with her back legs collapsed and sleeping the rest of the day.
