who /powerball/ here? i'm addicted to buying tickets now, been spending ~$50 a week on em. my life is objectively shit, the only way out imo is winning the lottery.
>>
Your life will be way shittier if you keep spending your money like that, and the incredibly small chance of winning isn't worth it
>>
I had to go to a few gas stations because I spent all my savings ($1000) on tickets.
>>
Your chances of being struck by lightning are higher. The lottery is a tax on stupid people.

Nigga...you need to chill, buying 20 tickets isn't going to increase your odds by much. It's just going to leave you broke. You should be spending no more than $2-$4 per lottery.
>>
$50 a week could go a long ways, when spent in the right direction
>>
>>25717947
nah I'm feeling it man. I might get a few payday loans if nobody wins this draw.
>>
That's stupid. Just play one line so you have a chance. But the chance to win is basically zero and it keeps being zero even if you buy a hundred tickets.
>>
>>25717932
you dont think i know that? i think of suicide daily, the lottery is literally the only thing that gives me some sort of hope. i dream of how i would live my life if i won, and i look forward to wednesdays and saturdays because of it. if that's the only happiness i have, i dont see the problem

I only bought 7 for the current draw. its outright scary to think about winning $950M+ or 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS over 29 years. Yet because I'm in California, the prize for matching only 5 numbers without the powerball could jump to like 15 million. Then again, last week there were 6 winners of that prize, then again they all won $780k, enough to be life changing, and possibly lead to financial liberation.

not OP, although I have spent $50 a week on lottery before, but it was a mix of different lotto games, daily pick 5 and scratchers

>"been spending ~$50 a week on em."

Let's say you did that for a 2 or 3 years, there are roughly 50 weeks in a year so 150 X 50= $7500.
Now, let's say instead of being a fucktard, you invested that money into an index fund like the S&P 500 and reinvested the dividends for 10 years. Now, obviously we can't predict the future of any market. But let's say you did this back in 2005. With dividends invested you'd have doubled your principle with a return rate 7% annually. Now, let's say instead of putting that $14,000 in a bank account, you instead kept it in the index fund for 10 more years. If everything went as well as your first 10 years and if you invested the $25,000 that you saved instead of throwing at the lottery every year, you'd have $80,000. Let's say you kept it for 10 more years, just like last time you added $25,000 to it and the market was just as good as the last time. You'd have $200,000. 10 more + $25,000? $500,000. 10 more? 1 million with 50k left for hookers and blow. What did you learn here OP?

Had he invested that $2,500 alone in the 1950's, it would be worth like 10 million today.

I think you meant to click on reddit but you clicked on r9k instead
>>
>tfw yuropoor so can't player powerball

I'm thinking I should just invest all my money into lottery before I commit suicide. If I win, suicide postponed until I spend the money, if I lose I go through with suicide.
>>
>>25717979
Either this is bait or you are legitimately Intellectually Disabled. How can you get loans or enter into a contract if someone has legal guardianship over you? If no one does currently have legal guardianship over you, then you have apparently slipped through the cracks. You do not have the mental faculties to care for your self or your finances.
How are you not in a group home or other type of residential care facility? If you are still living at home, then your parents should get legal guardianship over you because you are not mentally an adult. I think someone should contact Adult Protective services on your behalf.
>>
>>25718172
im not planning on living that long, it's not worth it. either i get rich and see if that makes me happy or i suicide, no other option.
>>
>>25718294
Why not 'invest' in something like Blackjack? Gambling is retarded, but if you plan on doing it than atleast pick one where you atleast have more than a 1% chance of winning.
>>
>>25718308
Why are you so mad? It's my life famm....

Matthew, go to bed.
>>
>>25717737
fuck the haters, just keeping doing it and eventually you are guaranteed to win
>>
>>25718517
I'm not mad, I'm concerned for your well being as you clearly are not mentally capable of making rational decisions about your own finances and care.

No, you fucking aren't. You could play for 300,000 years erryday religious spending thousands of dollars and your odds would still be the same.

Invest in Litecoin and send your litecoins to: LKe2WevJPtJkZpfW23YY8xXHayYJJso6Xk
much happy fun time!
And unlike powerball, all proceeds are guaranteed to go towards helping a robot.
>>
>>25718689
nope, never spent more than $5 on tickets but sometimes I win $100

not even stock markets make money like that
>>
>>25718800

I bought litecoin when btc was going nuts then forgot about it for a year, i bought at 20 and sold for a few bucks... literally lost thousands.

ltc looks like its on its way up tho
>>
>>25717737
The way I see it, you're buying hope. Even if it's temporary, there is nothing wrong with that.
>>
>tfw addicted to buying scratchers

coming home from work yesterday, i just stopped in to buy a notepad and walked out with $40 in scratchers
>>
>want to buy a ticket
>to scared to buy one
Welp, no hope for me.
>>
>>25718864
yeah, they tend to fluctuate. I knew some people who made some nice money on btc. I also knew a kid who I went to HS with who had a shitload of btc in his wallet, supposedly something like $1.2 mill USD worth at one point, but he forgot the encryption password. However, he ended up in prison for some computer shit so....yeah... I thought about buying up btc abut I never wanted to link my bank account to mt grox. I did kinda regret not setting up an account just for that though because I could have made shitloads if I invested when I first heard about it/was first considering buying some.
>>
>>25718895
Just buy scratch and sniff stickers instead. Guaranteed win every time.
>>
I wish my state didn't require I identify myself for winnings. I suppose it's good for transparency to ensure the lotto isn't rigged, but man does it cause a headache to the winners.
>>
>>25719005
5 states have laws that allow winners to remain anonymous to the public.
>>
>>25718880
OP here, that's exactly what i think. idk how long i can last doing this though, when your only hope for the future is winning the lottery i think at some point im going to give up
>>
>>25717737
Buying lottery tickets is the epitome of normie bluepill shit.
