Small symptoms of a much bigger problem.
It was just another enabler of my avoidance. If it wasn't that, I would have found another thing in order to do so. Don't know what the root cause is of my avoidance of taking any risks, other than just being a pussy in general.
Me but i dont care because what would i do without internet and games? They are the only one makes me happy

Yep. TV was also a factor. I believe all these things are evil at the core, but in small doses it could be ok. The real problem is none of us were trained or raised to have discipline

I don't understand how people get addicted to video games. I find it very easy to lose interest in them. Every time I actually finish a game I feel like I acheived something. But wasting time on the internet, and wasting time looking for new porn, those are definitely strong addictions for me.

I'm 36 years old, older than most people reading this.
I was basically normal up until junior high when we got our first computer and AOL. Sure I played Nintendo games but I also played sports, had friends, did normal stuff like play outside.
After I got access to the internet I joined ICC (internet chess club) and started withdrawing. I got into programming back when that was just for turbonerds and not "lol I programm 2, teehee ~_^"
Grades started slipping. Quit hanging out with normal people in high school, only friends were other computer nerds. Even then we didn't do anything, we went home and played video games the whole time.
Went to college, shit just got worse. Had literally zero friends in college. Just went to class, came back to the dorms.
Since I graduated at 24 I've never had a job that I had to actually go to. I've been a shutin almost the whole time. I think if I ever had to go to work and sit in a cubicle I'd probably kill myself. I'm living proof that social skills can actually atrophy.
When I'm done with work for the day I don't even get up. I just load up League of Legends (next month it'll be Street Fighter V) and just play all night, go to sleep and then do the whole thing again the next day.
If my parents never brought a computer home and I decided I really wanted to get into marine biology or law or any of a million other things that normal people do I would probably be normal. If I could time travel, I'd just find my parents house in 1992 and blow that fucking Compaq piece of shit sky fucking high.

A lot of games that people get addicted to don't have an ending. Like you can't "beat" WoW. You can beat the hardest boss in the game at the time but there's a million other things to do. You can "beat" Starcraft but the campaign isn't why people play, you just keep playing different people over and over, the game never ends.
Video games are actually too good these days. For only 60 bucks and an online fee (or sometimes not even that) you can get almost infinite gameplay.

This, I only like games that are self contained, I'm old school and I completely hate MOBAs, MMOs, and other endless grind games.
My only addictive game is playing really difficult pokemon romhack nuzlocke runs over and over again until I win one. But even then I get sick of it and have to stop for a few days.

Quit video games, turn off your computer right now. Never come back to 4chan. Never use reddit.
All forms of online social communities will replace real life social communities. This is scientific fact. Erase your online reality and create a real one.
Take school ultra seriously. Build a work history as soon as possible. Work at fucking Subway or Wendy's in high school. Intern in college and make sure you're getting all A's.
If people invite you somewhere. Go. Even if you don't want to. Especially if a girl invites you. Once you start saying no and people stop asking you're well and truly fucked.
