New Balance shoes in general are fine because they make reasonably priced running shoes with good arch support. Most people who wear New Balance wear them for that reason.
Specifically, their plain white shoes that are the cheapest of all of their sneakers and have limited arch support are the autist shoes. They are running shoes worn by people who don't intend to run while wearing them and they are generally cheaper and not put together well.
