The resolution is no where good enough yet to prevent screen door effect. I tried some prototype VR displays at con with comparable resolutions ( slightly less ) but it's literally like pressing your face against a television. It completely ruins immersion and image quality.
I'm more excited for the Vive at this point, especially if that gets more competitively priced. If Facebooks is willing to hike the price this much they are also willing to rip people off in other ways through software or forcing people to upgrade.
