Yeah I think I first visited around 05, I have a hazy memory of being a part of a habbo raid or something. Not sure when that happened.
But what hit me worse was when I was online in WoW on my last birthday and realized I've been playing that for 10 years.
I sure hope these were my last 10 years, but I'm afraid I'm going to waste at least another 10 here.

No, not really. I came here first in 06 or 07 and stayed on /b/ because I was an edgy teen. Then I grew tired of it in 08 and stopped. Since then I have been sporadically on /co/, /mu/ and /tv/ over the years. This is like my 5th visit to this board. You can not go back and recreate a culture. The original spirit that permeated the boards lasted at most 18 months past launch with the "golden year" being 2004. By 2005 friend of friends were the primary new user base and the experimental posting that neo-/r9k/ ironically tries to copy had taken over the board culture. It's just been a meta ride the whole way down.

What do you guise think of reddit basically becoming the walmart/borg collective of forums/boards? I find it deeply disturbing and also their UI is shit. But really, it's been bothering me lately. It's hard to even find populated alternatives besides 4chan.
