Are wrist watches autistic?
>>
if you're autistic they are
if not they're alright
chad can look good in anything
an autist can look autistic in anything
>>
Not inherently no, but with how common cell phones are now they are a bit redundant.
>>
>>25548367
What if I'm an autistic Chad?
>>
>>25548343
No they're an accessory, like wearing rings or a necklace.

Who /leatherwristband/?

The comfiest watches are leather. Only normies like cold metal that pinches your skin.

Why are you worried about the time? You got somewhere to be?

Are you kidding me?

They are the most socially acceptable masculine jewellery out there

Watch & Shoes are one of the first things girls check out when sizing up a guy

If you don't wear a good watch, you are at a serious disadvantage.
I have girls complement my watch all the time.
>>
>>25548343
I wear a watch and I'm pretty autistic. From what I've seen, very few normies wear watches, at least in the younger generations.

However, if you're Chad, wearing a nice watch is a plus.
>>
>>25548504

Yeah, your sister's cunt.
>>
>>25548504

>Watch & Shoes are one of the first things girls check out when sizing up a guy

I don't wear a watch and my shoes are dirty 3-year-old sneakers. Good thing I stopped caring about bleeders years ago.
>>
>>25548721
I like how you're so proud of being autistic and unappealing.
>>
>>25548721
You should really put in an attempt

I hate socializing so any shortcut I can take to make girls like me right off the bat, I'll gladly do.

It's almost as if I keep myself in shape and dress well, girls will be nice to me by default so I can just be myself instead of putting in actual effort to properly socialize with them and make them like me via conversation.

I can just dress myself in expensive clothes and things are smooth sailing from the get go. I love that.
>>

>>
>>25548935
No, the opposite. Chad-looking but with an autistic aura.
>>
>>25548923

>>
>>25549530
A slave labor camp with strict rules, where you get paid a lot, for example.
>>
>>25549572

>>
>>25549696

>>
>>25549696
Lots of companies demand you leave your phone in your locker while working, because it distracts from your duties. Normies are incapable of not checking their phone every 5 minutes, you know.
>>
>>25549735

I never knew cell phone use at work was autistic, I thought it was normie as fuck behavior.

I used to be a mechanic and a watch made much more sense than sticking dirty, oily hands into my pocket and getting shit all over my phone.

Watches also make a lot of sense in college, since you can get in trouble for pulling your phone out. (Especially during a test, which is one of the situations where knowing the time during class can be most important.)

Wearing a watch depends on your job, if you have an active job its ideal. If you can use your phone then ya its not needed.

If you go out with friends/chicks a watch is ideal, you dont want to be checking your phone at the table...

My functional autist watch is a Suunto Core. Much "cleaner" looking than the G-Shock and the altimeter feature is cool when skiing or hiking in the mountains, especially because it can log total ascent and descent. Pebbles are nice, most of the watches are these days. I initially went with the surge for four main reasons, heart-rate tracker that takes your BPM from your wrist, and the integrated GPS tracker. As well as getting it for 230$, shops wanted 300+ but i priced match and they took off an extra 10%.

Also 7 days at minimum with all the options enabled the battery will last, and only takes an hour and a half to fully charge.

Feels good mayne.

Your shop didn't have clocks? Like anywhere?
I work in a tiny 4-bay shop and we have 5 clocks: one in the lobby, one behind the counter, and 3 in the shop area.
I just keep my phone on my toolbox and occasionally check the time since our clocks are garbage and none of them read the same time.

I like the stupid convenience of watches, though. If I'm curious about the time, I can just move my arm, glance at it, and go back to what I was doing in five seconds or so instead of taking 30 seconds to dig my phone out of my pocket, turn the display on, read it, turn it off, and stuff it back in my pocket.

No, we actually didn't, the only clock in the place was in the office.

Our shop wasn't a normal shop anyway, we didn't have much in the way of routine, short jobs, and we had a really small and laid back staff so keeping track of time was kind of irrelevant. We basically just went in at some time of morning, worked until we felt like going home, and got our cut of the job.

We were mostly track-focused and did a lot of fab, so most of our jobs were multiweek things like "Here's my stock car, call me when it's a race car."

Also, if I never see a fucking torx screw again in my life I can die happy.

>Once they start making sense in your head you know you're past the point of no return and will never be able to work on anything else again.
I realized this when our new service writer started bringing in his old customers. I saw a Toyota for the first time in a year and my first thought was "How the hell do you expect me to work on this?"

The way you word it, it sounds like you had the opposite problem I do. Our customers are welfare queens and shit who buy decade-old BMWs and such because they're cheap and have no idea what it means to take care of them. Only about 10% of our customer base can actually afford to own their cars. The rest just like the badge and don't care that their German Corolla is falling the fuck apart.
>>
>>25557561
Oh god, yeah, that's gotta suck.

Our bad customers were mostly entitled rich kids who would nitpick pricing despite having infinite bank accounts and the fact that we were a bargain compared to anywhere else with our quality of work. (We directly competed with GMG and BBI, were widely considered to do better work than them, and were substantially cheaper.)

And yeah, fucking Toyotas are mindfucks. We got some random stuff when our regulars would either buy a second car or switch out of BMW, and FR-S/BRZ were common for a while. I hate doing coilovers on double wishbone cars. Same shit also applies to S2000s, but even worse because S2Ks have all been raped now. (Speaking of which, I happen to own an immaculate AP2 with only 30k on it, and pretty much nobody who knows me even knows I have it.)

This is my autist watch.

I only wear it for /out/ and /asp/ shit or when working on cars though.

That's a cool watch. Is it water proof? How much does it cost?

Nothing wrong with a little autism. But watches don't have to be autistic, if you're chad and get a generic high-end swiss you're fine.

Yeah, it's waterproof to a pretty decent depth. It actually can use its altimeter to measure depth too, I know some divers use them for that but not sure how deep you can go.

MSRP is around $300 but they can be had for less. I got lucky and got mine at one of REI's "garage sales" for $65, it was in brand new condition and was either a display model or one that was never worn and then returned.

My only complaint is the shitty stock strap, mine broke after 5 years (the little loop that holds the tail of the strap fell apart), so I need to get a replacement. There used to be NATO strap adapters on etsy, I've been meaning to see if they still exist.

>Rarely use phone.
>Hate digital
>Wear analog wrist watch to tell time.

I'd rather flick my wrist and look down then pull out a literal brick from my pocket and input a sequence code for the time.

I just like to wear mine for part fashion, but also because it's easier to just look at your wrist than pull out your phone from your pocket.

Pic is mine.

you guys are taking this overboard
is this the new "autism shoe" type thing?

It's a sports luxury watch with a black leather strap with carbon fibre laced in and it looks passable with almost any outfit, from suits to sport wear. And I just think it looks bad ass as well.

The ones that are digital and have calculators and can play melodies are autistic, unless you're a Chad.

I used to have flip phones until a few years ago when I got a phone just like this one (same model but not the exact phone I have because it's just a picture I found online).
This one has a touch screen on the front and a slide out keyboard (the best of both worlds).

I bought a real tourbillon watch will I get gold digger pussy now?

That said when you turn from someone who wears a watch into someone who brags about expensive dogshit like the breitling or spends hours in a thread on /g/ daily, you are indeed autistic.

>>25562753
Is it chink or are you so loaded you could've gotten it before anyway?

Like most things in life, they make the attractive look more attractive and the ugly look uglier.

>>25551838
seriously, what the fuck else would someone wear a watch for? they all look absolutely retarded even hidden under a suit, and it certainly doesn't pass for fashion anymore
