It didn't take much time. I used foreground and background colours and Paint's right-click feature to paint the tens.

briddy gud.

500mg, 1 and a half bottles of dat tussin sizzurp mane

after about 40-50mins i had to go kneel at the toilet and pop, but i hadn't eaten too much so it was quick and mostly just water/the syrup that came up. i had not a fuck to give about it

after that i sat in my recliner and listened to Tool with my earbuds in and that's where it habbedn. closed my eyes, was listening to some lateralus song, it might have been lateralus itself, and there was this point of light in the center (closed eye) and i was rushing towards it, or it was rushing towards me, and it was like a tunnel of odd geometric shapes all on the periphery

6 or 7/10. next time i'm upping that shit to 700

How do i program?
>>
>>25544194
Honestly though i finished the javascript course on codecademy and i didnt learn a single thing.

How do you reccomend i learn?
>>
>>25544231
Step 1: learn a programming language
Step 2: program something
>>
>>25544252
Tutorial videos and a shitload of practice. JavaScript on its own is worthless too, you need to know decent HTML/CSS for it to be useful.
>>
>>25544252
Copy tutorial code and fuck with it until it breaks, then start over and fuck with it some more until you understand it. Then go to the next tutorial.

That's not true at all. Even I actually wrote Winows system scripts in JScript.

Any good resources besides codecademy?
Like the other guy ITT I don't think I really learned anything. Signed up for a edX course that starts soon but I worry that might turn out the same.

>tfw learned with coldfusion/procedure-based programming and now have to learn OOP.
>>
>>25545011
What exactly do you want to learn?
>>
>>25545011
I don't know CodeAcademy but anything that teaches you the basics is fine (TheNewBoston was my go-to guy for Java). People just follow the tutorials and expect to be wizards within the week. You need to practice a shitload. After you've learned all the basics, make a decent text game or something, and then go on to more advanced stuff.

You L I T E R A L L Y have to apply constantly or you'll learn JACK SHIT. I can not stress this enough.
>>
>>25545011
Everyone should just jump to learning OOP from the start. Beginner languages are just a waste of time desu, you can always go back and learn them in 5 minutes after mastering an OOP language.
>>
#include <stdio.h>

main(){

char gf[999];

Do you know design patterns? In the beginning I've used them and tried to remember them, but now I'm finding them counterproductive.

ayyy any android/libgdx fags here?
>>
>>25548765
Used to fuck around with android up till 2.2. Then I got bored. Screw Fragments.
>>
>>25542363
Hey boys, so I can pretty much read any language and I understand the OOP basics well enough (Inheritance, Polymorphism, scope access, interfaces, etc) and the common data structures, but the question is where do I go from here? Do I start learning so more common libraries, try dealing with threads \ concurrency, operating systems, networking, image processing, GUI, memory management, computer science theory, AI, genetic code, generic code, what should I focus on right now to really step up from beginner level?
>>
>>25548851
Also are design patterns like that factory bullshit I see everywhere really important?
>>
>>25548829
oh man, its been kinda long since I've touched just the native SDK. How/where do you use fragments for libgdx games exactly? Or did you just mean just native Android apps?
>>
>>25548960
Nah I meant native. It's used in an Activity to divide the UI instead of lumping it all together. I haven't touched Android in a while either.
>>
>>25544930

You can write anything in JS now, it's pretty cool.

I'm currently working on a couple assignments as part of the interview process for a startup, in Go. They want unit tests for a very basic thing and I can't work up the courage to work on them because I'm not sure I even want the job.

I just want to go back to writing my node app and studying ruby.
>>
>>25548851

Make something related to what you want to do eventually

>>25548889

Design patterns are closely related to whatever paradigm your language of choice adheres to, so just read up on common design patterns of whatever you're working on.

Read the design patterns book I guess if you're working with something OOP related, it's a classic (I never read it).

This is the equivalent to HAES supporters. Its still hard for me to believe people like this exist.
>>
>>25549374
I can't believe this shit either. You know what the funniest thing was? He got fucking MAD when I suggested that he might be wrong.

>"Are you fucking serious it's obviously a problem with Java. Can't you use fucking logic, there's no way I made a mistake in my code. I used the exact same code from another program and that works perfectly so why would this be different?!"

I'm this close to punching him in the jaw.
>>
>>25549598
He appears to be exactly the type who shouldn't start programming because he lacks so much critical thinking skills.
>>
>>25549634
Aye, like you said, the HAES of programming. EVERYONE is a good programmer, whether the code works or not.

If yes to the former question, go freelance or make some apps.

not him, but, it's pretty weak. First language I learnt. But once you master it and the universal concepts of programming, learning other languages will be piss easy

I'm setting out to develop my first app for this program/ business thing. I've never made an app before, 99% of my programming experience from scripting in Lua.
Any pointers? This is volunteer work since I'm doing it alongside school with no real deadlines, and I'm not looking to get into university. (too expensive) I feel like the experience alone is impressive to get a more seriously high paying job. (The actual business/ program is an impressive startup focused on an aspect of the city)

I asked them if they could bring in a seasoned app developer/ some kind of senior developer to help. I learn mostly through bouncing questions off people/ getting small pointers.

Am I doing the right thing? (On all levels; making this app, doing it as volunteer work, asking for a senior dev)
What is a good program to make apps in that use things like google maps API?

Can a genetic algorithm eventually beat an efficient normal one given enough time and input?

many GPU have a 40 bit addressable address space.
>>
>>25551068
Eventually it should if you let enough time pass, but more time efficient optimization would be to let a strong ai take over and let it optimize.
>>
>>25550822
It's not useless. It's a very useful language and I'm not sure why people hate on it.

Although if you want to make big games or applications that screw with memory, you're gonna have to use C++. Other than that, Java can do everything.
>>
>>25551233
Well java being a interpreter has some obvious drawbacks compared to languages that directly compile to machine code.
>>
>>25551233
Object oriented programming is the biggest meme in all of computer science.
>>
>>25551233
The main reason I assumed Java was useless is the fact that I've seen a lot of people shit on it in favor of their meme languages
>>
i was reading up on programming, found an article titled "LAMP Stack vs MEAN Stack vs Ruby on Rails"

what route should i take. i'd like to be employable/work my way up to earning 3-4k per month post tax earnings. maybe freelancing? idk about that though, how do you compete with indians online and the nickel a day rate they earn
