Both songs you posted are quite bad
Somebody needs to make psychedelics easier to find

Call on Me is catchy and fun, it's an instant classic that has been permanently burned into the minds of the people who grew up around the time it was made. The lyrics are extremely simple and light, they aren't the core of the song, the core of the song is the person listening, whoever they are, the focus is on the listener, trying to get them to just stand up and dance and have fun.
Too Original is just, I don't even know how to describe it, it's a horrible, undancable, forgettable cacophony of confusing honks and beeps. The lyricist is obviously the center of attention, the whole song just reeks of egoism, it's a mockery of good dance music. This song doesn't want you to dance, it wants you to shut up and sit down and listen to the stupid wigger whore spit her nonsense at you then go out and buy her records and play them at your own stupid shit parties to try and look cool and hip and modern like everyone else.
You can still put Call on Me on the radio at a party and people will dance, that will not be the case ten years later with Too Original, or anything by Major Lazer for that matter.

Post any band from back then and now
Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy slim, somewhere along the line shit just fell apart.
BT is still muh nigga though
modern house music and genres that fall under EDM is fine. Like everything there is good and bad
You sound like one of those autistic 15 year old dad rock kids

I know there is plenty of good and proper house these days, but it rarely ever makes it to the radio anymore.
>>25506086
>The radio
people listen to the radio? The only reason I'm marginally in tune with what's popular is because I work at a sports bar, otherwise I see no need to turn that shit on.
but I don't watch TV either, guess I'm wierd

It's just a fucking remix of an 80s song, it's not even a good remix it's just the chorus looping with a drum machine
>in the fucking trash it goes
>>25506060
Seriously. Modern house is fine. I was "that weird kid that listen to techno" on my bus back in 02-07 ( I remember when Emergency Broadcast System came out. Still on my phone), and I still like all that old stuff. Today's stuff is just fine.
It seems as though your implication is that the sorta jamaican influence has ruined dance music when we've gone from songs that are 3 minutes of the same 4 bars over and over again to songs that have actual variety, melody, and to put it bluntly, fun.If you can listen to this song and say you weren't at LEAST bobbing your head to it, you are a dirty filthy liar.

Pjanoo is fine, but jesus call on me is the most stereotypically bad dance song ever produced. I'm not even the dude you're responding to, it's the simple truth. It's not creative (ripping off an 80s song) it's repetitive as fuck (you can literally click around at random in the vid and the song hardly sounds broken up) and the only reason it got any popularity was that shitty nerd baiting music video. Next things up you're gonna fucking tell me that destination unknown was the pinnacle of big brass music.

No, not at all. It's a total earsore to me.

DJ Fresh is one of the greatest producers of all time. Gold Dust is the only worthwhile thing british has contributed to world culture in the last decade.

OP here, I don't really give a shit about Prydz I hate all his other music anyway. It makes sense that his only good track was stolen, really.

Call on me is good for a few listens but it really pales in comparison to any of his other work. Listen to any of his sets over the past few years. He came out with this a little while ago and it's pretty good.

What the fuck are you talking about? Call on Me is garbage. Simple meaningless lyrics and even more shallow "instrumentation". Pop music has always been garbage (for the most part)

I don't know we're in a great age in dance music right now, if you don't like it you're honestly just not digging deep enough.
