I know there are some of you here, how many cubers are active on r9k?
Not really active on r9k just when I'm in the mood for feels. I also get the impression that cubers are the kind of people who post on image boards, maybe it's just a pretty autistic hobby.
Post some of your times. I average around 18sec.

>I average around 18sec.
I average around 12.5, but set a new all time PB single of 7.05 a few days ago. I'm going to try and get an Official 4BLD success this year. I'll probably go to euros too.

Pretty good. You actually go to events? Neat. I thought of it but I'm not really that fast and don't know anyone who'd go with me.
Are you some kind of well known cuber? I only know a few I have subbed on youtube though.
I can barely average 30 seconds but I haven't cubed in like a month so I probably suck now
>>25491991
Yeah I've been going to events for years. In in the top 300 in Europe, but not really known outside my country.
I made it to sub 30s, then quit because my fingers are hurting and I need them for the rest of my life (Melee, programming, shitposting). It makes for a good party trick, and people think you're very smart because of it.
my fastest is 1 min 11 sec
I love bringing it with me on trips and freaking out the normies
>doesn't impress women
>won't get you money
>doesn't impress men
Nice hobby, faggots
>tfw I finally learned how to solve a 3x3
>"Pfft, but can you solve it in less than 15 seconds?"
FUCK OFF NERDS
>tfw only managed 23 seconds in school
>tfw not even the best at being autistic
>>25493397
>>doesn't impress women
What does?
>>25493397
>>won't get you money
No, but can get you on national TV fairly easily
>>25493397
>>doesn't impress men
it impresses some.

>not going to events and meeting your speed cube waifu
shiggy diggy
I fucking HATED these kids in school who did these things. I never could, I tried to peel off all the stickers and rearrange them to cheat but they were to sticky.
Its a trick, theres some trick rrrreee
>>25494859
it's called an algorithm
>Used to be really good
>Average ~22 secs
>best 13.54
Haven't timed myself in a while but I can still solve it
>>25494895
Its called being a nerd.
>>25494859
But you have all the time in the world, surely spending 30 minutes to learn and practise some algorithms would barely register in your diary?
>>25492048
I am like this. I didn't learn the last layer algorithms. I can do like 25 second solves pretty consistently but they're 100+ turns.
>>25494859
No, just algorithms. I can teach someone to do sub 2m solves in an afternoon.
I speedcube so I can feel superior to others.
>>25495682
I usually nap in the afternoons
Im shit, avrg is still not under 60 sec. But I have a Maru 3x3 and 2 DaYan 3x3 one was the DIY. It's fun but I never took it seriously
I wouldn't call myself a speedcuber, but I average 40s using a simple corners first method. I was closer to 30s when I solved the thing more than a couple times a month.

>Used to have NR's and almost a CR once
>Will never have an NR again
>that nerdy black kid who would solve cubes in under a minute
>that other kid who took the whole thing apart and rearranged the pieces to make it look like he solved itthat kid was me
>>25493397
>goes on /r9k/
>shitposts because he doesn't have a viable hobby that can start a decent conversation
>"y-yeah I make fun of people on an imageboard because I don't have a talent to work on"
can anyone recommend a good tutorial video? i just got a cube want to learn
