Eh, they kindof are the same thing. It's just the general advice I give and follow myself.
When meeting new people, it helps to imagine that you're some famous celebrity, or you will become one someday. It helps you make a strong presence, and maintain confidence. Plus, it feels good and fun once it becomes subconscious. You feel like a big-shot, and people start to treat you like one.

Others might disagree, but I do believe you have to love yourselfor, at least not hate yourselfto meet people. If you try to fake confidence when you hate yourself, people will spot the inconsistencies immediately, and think you're a literal robot.

I understand perfectly what you are saying.
I've had at least a couple encounters where it felt like someone felt like they were really trying to force their personality. It only made me feel uncomfortable.
I also think that people shouldn't try to force themselves on others. Which isn't related to what you were saying at all, but I think that it's good advice for people who are truly trying to find a meaningful friendship/relationship with others. If I feel like I don't really connect with someone in a lot of ways, then I'll keep things on a hello/goodbye basis, just being friendly.
