Actual viral marketer here, no one advertises on 4chan. There's no retention, which is the whole point. Also, there's no quantifiable way to measure where the traffic is coming from because you can't click links on here. You get paid by the hit, and the people who are paying you need to see that they're getting x amount of hits from however many sites they gave you to market on.

Yeah, I work for some. Nobody wants to advertise here because people can sniff out viral campaigns too easily, the audience is volatile, it's impossible to run analytics on the traffic, and there's no retention.
What a viral campaign would focus on is usually reddit, imgur, 9gag, the different meme sites, youtube, and facebook. If it's for a niche, then you advertise on forums.
